your stuff looks good, but it also looks like you have been drawing mostly from photos. Try drawing more from life.

Hey Jhonny! great to see you've started a sketchbook here!
I really like your life paintings ,and the robot shading is very nice :p
For the speedpaints, don't be afraid to experiment with a lower horizon (view closer to the ground), It seems like most of them are aerial views.
Putting down a perspective grid would help getting a better sense op depth.
And remember, less is more! Dont get lost too much in detail and focus on the general composition and values.
its good you're doing lots of speedpaints..its a good way to practice and improve.
But anyways, keep updating this sketchbook , and..keep drawing! (:

Some great stuff! But I would highly suggest you look at the basics, because it seems like you are trying to run before you walk. Try loomis and vlippu stuff--you can find them free online, and they'll help you lots. Keep drawing buddy! Excited to see ya improve.

    Hello Jhonny,

    Cool to see that you're already interested in anatomy and the human figure itself, but, I would advice you to concentrate on one part first instead of trying to learn everything;
-Start studying and mastering the proportions first before adding the anatomy of the figures. It's like start building a house when the foundations aren't in place yet.
-Have a look at the Loomis books (PDF downloads: http://alexhays.com/loomis/ ) . Learn the right proportions.
-I guess you're copying those poses from PoseManiacs? Start simple, PoseManiacs often has those strange poses. Start copying the figures found in the Loomis pdf's.

    Good luck!
    Lino

    Hey there,

your speedpaint really admired me, i guess you can only improve the speed with practising ?
i'm a slow painter by my opinion but i want to learn to do it faster, is there a technique you use ?
or is it just practise, practise aaaand more practise ?

    keep it up jhonny!

    cheers

Hey Joeri, well the speedpaints get better by doing it a lot, I also do studies and bigger paints between to learn more about color, light, composition... after a study I often do speedpaints to try different lights, different colors and different compositions to get the feeling. It's a lot of practise ^^

    greetz and tnx mate

well not much time for studies atm, finals are coming and for my drawing we need to make a fantasy chariot (so I took the necromancer guardian) and atm making some thumbs but the roughly shaded thumbs still busy with so dont mind the lack of those

Thanks for stopping by at my sketchbook

You've show some nice progress on your speedpainting skills here !
Perhaps it might also be a good idea to make some more paints from photo reference, it will help you to improve your feeling for colour.
And also for your anatomy perhaps you could better start by doing some more static poses. I see you did some very advanced poses in here, from a high and low point of vieuw, these are very dificult to draw correctly in perspective !

    http://lovecastle.org/draw/
personally i concider this website to be very usefull and it has some not to difucult poses on it. And the timer is really handy !

But it looks like you are very motivated and show some nice progress, so i wish you the best of luck with DAE !
It's all about motivation in the end !
Keep up the good work !
