New to this area.. any suggestions for starting out canvas size for the EoW's? and 150dpi too high? I'd love to give this one a shot.

I just started mine at 900x600 and scaling up as necessary. Not sure where these things should end up size wise though.

Photoshop. I like Painter's natural look but I've gotten so used to Photoshop over the years with it's whole image editing features that I never could be bothered to properly switch

Pixeltuner: I like the concept! I'm excited to see it fully fleshed out. Really nice colors going on so far too!
CharlieD: Great start! Maybe you could have some sort of structure in the distance though, to imply a destination. (unless that very faint silhouette in the back is meant as a building, in which case I would make that more evident ).

Another update. I'm trying to improve the depth and the overall grandeur of the scene before I go any further. Maybe I'll make the figures smaller?

l'Aria: Thx And yeah, I would make the figures a hell of a lot smaller to really sell the idea of a grand hall Maybe even as small as the base of the statue on the right.

Haven't had much time to work on it, but did some minor updates. Saw l'Aria's last update and thought I could benefit from shrinking the figure in mine as well to help put more emphasis on the tower. (Scale, how does that work?)

Think reconizable items in perspective. So like birds, trees, people and so on in relation to other objects in your piece. This why bird shapes or people shapes in environs are fairly common in environments. Its also possible to show scale through texture, im not gonna explain just look it up.

Ah, I was trying to be silly. I'm well aware of what scale is. Thanks though!

dec 21st should offer a huge array of different ideas. This will be nice to keep coming back to, and doing new locations.

A month is crazy long, it will be cool to see people's progress and thought process through the thread.

this is a quick take. On to the next.
