This is a base model I"ve created for a graphic novel project. The main body of the artwork will be b/w so any crit on light and shade will be particularly helpfulif your reading this, thank you for taking the time to have a look.

Design doesn't looks bad, feet and arms bothered me, also the head proportion to the body bothered me at first. As an opinion, the breastplate should cover more of his body. Can't see the guard of the sword (looks like a katana hilt).
I did an overpainting to see if I could get a better value separation and also trying to get a better metal reflection (something I'm really bad at, but always nice to give it a try) but is the first time I try this so, take it with a grain of salt, just did it as an exercise.
Try to work your values better to get materials and parts better separated, also be careful with the ground shadow. Remember that metal (armour) are like mirrors, they reflect the environment, so either fake something that can be thought as an environment or take into account what is around to be reflected. Be careful with linework, try to erase some points a little bit or the black of the lines will flatten your drawing.
Cheers!
An incredible design. The breastplate looks a little odd on the right, like its somewhat of lesser width, unless this was intentional, otherwise, its a great piece of concept art.
Thanx guys, this helps alot! I'll post the other two models in the near future![]()
So here's a new piece with the other two designs I sort of mentioned.. please omit the few off details such as the knight having the only drop shadow lol This is a personal project so iI let a few things slide for the reference modelsany further feedback is awesome!!
