Hi, I'd suggest that u shouldn't just draw the head. Try to draw the whole body without cutting away any chellanging parts.
    Also pretty nice linequality .

    Keep it up!

I like your pen sketches, and amount of work you are putting in is pretty good. I would say when you digital paint, make sure you flip your canvas back and forth to make sure things look correct on both ends. For your still lives, watch your edges. Make sure hard surface objects look hard edged. Keep it up!

Your pencil lines have a lot of confidence! I love the sketches, some imaginary figures have weak anatomy though but that can easily be fixed with more studies; Gestures, anatomy. And you seem to be on the right track so keep it up!

ps: there is a weekly gesture group with cool optional studies if you're interested: Spartan Camp

Just a mini update. Tried working on some face studies. I ran into the problem that no matter when i put my construction lines down on my face, the features still come out crooked. Working on correcting that issue. Also did a mini paint sketch in photoshop to get myself familiar with color and painting. I also have an issue with form as seen in the girls arms holding the blanket. Well here goes...

Also as a side note: The abandonment of my drawings are a result of self learning trying new techniques. It's like putting pieces to a puzzle or solving a math problem. When i find the technique doesn't work or didn't come out as i visioned it i abandon it. An nasty habit that needs to stop. I will focus on completing more full drawing studies

Most popular techniques will work to give you what you want. Just keep at it. Fill up a sketch pad or two with a technique and see what you get. I remember one person using Loomis techniques saying you should knock out at least 100 sketch studies a week for human figures to learn a technique. I don't fully agree but I think that is close enough to being right.
    Keep it up

LiquidJack: Very good advice. Thanks bro. I'm too quick to jump ship to a new technique. There are tons of techniques for constructing a human body. Which do i use is the problem. Haha

I really like these last few updates, and the characters in #41 are great! They have an interesting, almost cartoony style and wonderful linework! I'm not sure that abandoning your work whenever the technique doesn't seem to be working is a good idea, but just keep on working and you'll be satisfied with it eventually

Hello! nice studies you've got here!
though some proportions are still a bit off but I'm definitely seeing improvement on the faces
    I love your line work : )

I get a little nervous about smudging techniques with graphite. Sometimes it can make a drawing feel sloppy but you are doing a good job of keeping those blended shapes feel structural. I especially like the contrast you are getting from blended shapes and your lines.

Niam: Thanks! Proportions along with Value are my number one problems as of late. I will be studying them more.

ForScience: Thanks! I have a certain look i'm trying to achieve with graphite. It can look a little sloppy at times i admit.

Whee, i like the updates. I really like the faces, i'd like to see them done so i can have more info to comment on them.
About smudging, its actually okay to do it sometimes, for an effect. The only problem is smudging makes you loose texture quality, which makes everything look like a blob of fog if overdone. I've seen really talented people who smudge, they still do those hatching things alot thooo. I need to find the subscribe button really.Takes forever to search by name

Very nice draftsmanship! You seem quite comfortable with ink, it's all coming along very nicely. : ) And one thing I've learned about value is to really push the contrast. If you think it looks dark enough, check again. This has really helped me to achieve better readability between lights and darks. For example; the fifth image down in post 20, I love it! But I feel it loses some of it's depth from a lack of contrast. Just a smidge though. If you were to incorporate the same value seen in the right corner of the mouth for the nostrils, it might help the nose pop a little more. Anyway, love what you're doing here, can't wait to see what's next!

I like your stylised drawings and you're a pretty dab hand with the ink. Keep on with your studies of faces and figures and keep applying what you've learnt to your imaginative drawings. I'm sure things will finally click for you. Keep on with the still lifes, maybe try some where you only focus on getting the proportions and form right instead of worrying about value at first. You could also try some self portraits to help you with learning facial structure, something I seriously need to do as well.
