Smile Aspiring concept artist or illustrator. Need HELP!

Hello people. I'm new to the forum.

I want to be a concept artist or illustrator for video games. I work really hard to improve.

Please take a look at my deviant page. >>> http://a8acey.deviantart.com/
Any feedback/help in going about getting my dream job will be helpful.
Right now I'm going to apply for an art school. Do you think I will be accepted?

Well, you've painted from pictures, now time to move on to real life reference. Start with some simple still lifes with one direct light source. Then, play around with it a bit. Add a few more lights, use reflective objects, matte objects, whatever you can find. Really try and study the forms and not just copy.

You're on a good track, just keep the momentum going.

    Thanks for the reply.

I just recently started to draw from life in my sketch book, but I find still life subjects boring.
So, I try and learn "form" from images. I know it's not as good as studying from life.

Here are some drawings of my hand.

I suggest cozying on up beside still lifes and get to know 'em a bit better, because if you're planning on going to art school then you're going to be spending a lot of time together.
If you know that using pictures is not as good as life, why give yourself a second rate lesson? Pictures are fantastic tools for referencing the things we can't see everyday, but having a real 3D subject in front of you makes it so much easier to understand and deconstruct.

If you really want something with more substance go grab a mirror and paint some self-portraits. And if that kicks your ass, think about grabbing something simpler.

    Thanks for the help.

I'll try drawing myself and still life more often.
