Not a bad start! I know you're doing that sort of cutesy anime style, but I think it'd still be worth it for you to look at facial proportions. Also, pay attention to how an eye really looks when you're drawing someone from life. A lot of your eyes are still following the "circle with a dot in the middle" symbol, rather than what the eye looks like in real life. This is particularly noticable in your step-dad drawing, where we can see the full shape of his eye even though his head is turned sideways. His eye would look more like ( >, not a full circle, if that makes sense.
