    The still life Painting Journey

    So i recently entered a still life painting class, and i just felt in love with it.. the genre and the oils, it was my first time experimenting with actually painting traditionally with any kind of medium. Its changed my life..

    Here ill post my progress in painting from earliest to latest.

    The class is in the Academy of art in SF, the instructor was just amazing, i got lucky to get one so good.

    And he is the last work for the class.

    Thanks Black spot.. There is quick in class work.. like the metal objects and the flowers.. those take me like 3-5 hrs.. the more finished ones like the violin.. take me a like 25 hrs..

    I don't know squat about painting but I like the flowers and really dig the violin painting too. Nice work!

    Ah! the strings.. tricky stuff right there.. i used a ruler after the painting dried .. it would be so friggin hard to free hand those..

    comiong on great man, tone down those highlights. squint your eyes to simplify the scene and alot of what you think of as highlights arent,
