My favorite funny art quote ...of all time

This made me laugh SO much the first time I saw it... Julianne Moore's completely straight face... wow

Does anyone actually know someone like this?

Hehehe, I have all forgotten about it, because the scene I remember most is the one where Lebowski accidentally scatters the ashes of his late friend into his own face.

And yes, I know someone who is at least a little bit like that. She is busy with a doctorate in - get this - photography. She does take nice photos, mind you. But boy, can she see deeper meaning in pictures, except of course pictures that actually portray something. :-)

That's awesome man. She sounds like a real Maude. Have any links to her stuff? I've always wanted to meet a person like this and just chat. I walk by this art school often, near the art history building...
And yeah that was a great scene... even then The Dude takes it in stride and hugs Walter. Great character.

Well its not actually The Dude who scatters the ashes, its Walter.

No, alas, I don't think she has anything online. Her photos are perfectly good; I just find it weird that it can be considered so academic a pursuit that one can do a doctorate in it!

Well, there you have it. It's been ages since I saw the film. I seem to remember the Dude also getting a face full of ashes?

Yeah I know a couple of people who don't put stuff online, I think it is because they don't want to get their ideas stolen or something like that. I'm sure everyone has their reasons.

Steve Colbert has that beat easy. So does Ilaekae. Anyway, here's a recent quip from Colbert,

"Art is a three-letter word for how to disappoint your parents."
