Spartan Camp #244- 50 gestures + Optional "Specialized Anatomy Study"

Spartan Camp #244- 50 gestures + Optional "Specialized Anatomy Study"

The aim is to produce 50 gestures by Sunday the 18th of November.

    - The gestures can be of anything, human, animal, cavorting capybaras.... You can draw full figures, but you can also go for heads, arms, eyes, or anything specific. All media can be used, both digital or traditional. Coloured or black/white. Quick scribbles or long studies. Imagination or referenced. Clothed or nude. Specifics are up to you!

    - In addition to this, participants can choose to do an Optional "Specialized anatomy study", in any medium.
Additional notes on this weeks’ Optional Study:

    The Exercise:
This weeks optional study is called a "Specialized Anatomy Study" for lack of a better name. Even so, the exercise is fairly straightforward. You will choose a single anatomical target and make three different types of studies of it. For example, you choose to study the forearm, and perform a quick skeletal study, a muscle study and an outer view.
Anatomical topics could be anything from limbs, joints, facial features, you name it. As for study types, you could also do value studies, some gestures, some different viewpoints, a study explaining the action or function, a color study, your anatomical topic referenced from yourself, a referenced one and one without reference, or the same topic using different media, or anything else!
Naturally, these studies should not be too extensive! The main goal is to address an anatomical feature in three different ways or approaches.

As always- reference advised, not obligatory. Colour, medium, time frame, any specifics are up to you! Good luck and have fun! And feel free to ask questions!

50 poses is a challenge, but don't hurry or stress yourself reaching it! Focus on drawing, as practising is the main goal of this exercise.

Criticizing each other is highly encouraged!! Share constructive criticism, reference images and resources!! Let's help each other get better!

Come on soldiers! Flex those muscles!!

I have been away for a while, but I've seen some of the work posted in the last thread and wow! You guys don't stop! So time to get back into the swing of things. I went life drawing yesterday, so those will count towards my first gestures:

Might go to posemaniacs for the rest of these

    UPDATE:

    UPDATE 2:

These are some facial studies that I did for an overpriced class. The face is a crazy-complicated body part.

It takes me a while before a get a good work flow going, and it doesn't help that I haven't been using the tablet for two weeks, now, and drawing for a week.

I might have to increase it to 120 sec, until I can get the lines I want in one swoop especially S-curves.

Hey guys, I didn't realise this was a 2 week challenge. I will need to comment on everybody's work later this week. I've been mad busy and the only study time I could squeeze in is by going to the local life drawing session. Here are my drawings this week:

hi everybody! great entries so far and what a nice group. Fresh studies I did today. Posemaniacs 60 seconds and a bunch of random photos.
The quality of the pictures is not the best - I apologize. Again: thanks for this study-group.

Dang...there is so much excellent work I wouldn't even know where to start if I were to comment.
Job well done to everyone, great to see everybody pushing themselves!
Tomorrow I have life drawing, but I did some posemaniac drawings in Photoshop today (never as good as with a pencil though).
And some drawings I did in a caffee while having a cup a tea (how Irish right )
