Question HELP required for research in conceptual/ installation art

Are you aware of the form of art known as conceptual/ installation art?
Do you know artists who produce works under this form of art?
In the context of conceptual/ installation art, to what extent can you say that traditional art-making skills (sculpture, drawing, painting) are important?

the title clearly states the reason for this thread: a research. It is in the form of a survey and i have my opinion set however, the inputs of others (those who dont mind sharing) would allow me to obtain counterclaims to my views.
    thank you

Concept art and conceptual art are two totally separate things. You are unlikely to find what you are looking for here.

I hear this question a lot, but the answer is pretty simple. It depends on the artist. I know some whose studios are chock full of ringbinders and filled out writing pads and they've not been near a pencil in the last year except to annotate a page in a book. Some artists begin with traditional media and use it to cement an idea for a conceptual or installation piece, then abandon it. Others drift in and out, they start with an unusual conceptual idea, then respond to it in traditional media, and onward back to the concept. I'd say in the majority of cases traditional media is involved somewhere, it's something most fine artists feel comfortable using to generate ideas or get a specific fix on something, but are by no means are beholden to do so.

It has very little in common with the working process of a concept artist though, as people have mentioned ^ ^
