Hoping for any tips on how to blend more effectively in photoshop
Use the Smudge tool with Scattering checked in the Brush settings palette.
like neonnoodle said, smudge is quite good , but with no standard brush
you can use blur's brush kit wich include a set of great blending brushes
http://hi.baidu.com/blur1977/blog/it...88cb10d15.html
(read the readme with it to know)
you can also blend the manual way (worth it) use colorpicker to pick the color just between the two color area (use ALT shortcut while brushing) and constantly pick the mid-color , brush , pick , brush , pick
until you get your very personal blending technique.
there is also the mixer brush (but not so efficient)
lol i know what u mean, i got stuck with a malfunctioning mouse for a month.
you can use autohotkey to remap any key in your keyboard
download the software from here
http://www.autohotkey.com/
then you must create a script that will remap your keys, it's simple:
open the notepad
paste this code in it
<^>!::!
it's very simple: '<^>!' is the altgr key followed by two point then '!' wich mean the normal alt
when you will hit altgr it will send to the computer alt
save this file to altremap.AHK
don't forget to be sure it's *.ahk and not a.ahk.txt
when you launch it autohotkey will open in tray (the green H)
and will do the job
Also you can use i shortcut to colorpicker , normally you can hold it like alt then when you release it it will back to brush.
Use less strokes. Try a hard brush with 80% (or so) opacity, alt-click to pick a color. Study a bit of traditional painting, even if you plan to do only digital art.
Keep practicing.
using a bigger brush diameter with longer strokes might help
Thanks a lot Zou!!! I got it working, its a lot quicker than i everytime specially for blending, because on cs6 i doesnt go back to brush automaticly.
