    Eleyon's Sketchbook

    So...here I am, I'll post there my sketches and disasters, wishing for comments and critiques

    Here are some fast sketches I've made this last period, I like to use both traditional and digital way and a sketch usually doesn't take much more than 10 minutes... for digital ones I'm slower ._.

    PS. Please tell me if the images are too big!

    Hey there!

    First, I love the amount of personality you've put into your girls. You don't skimp on feeling or emotion, and they're very expressive.

    You're just starting your sketchbook here, I know, but I do note that we have ten women and no men. Do you practice them as much? Also, I notice that you like to move the ear too close to the face in profile.

    Hi! Well...A draw men, but when I want just let the pencil go, I found more natural to me to draw a female form...I know I need to put more effort on males XD I'll try to post some in future!

    You say that the ear is too close? Because I'm always afraid to move it too far from the face and make the head like an ET

    As to the ear-- the brunette with the flowers in her hair looks fine, but the dark gal below her is pretty extreme, and the first woman in front of the computer also seems off. I think it's a cross between the ear being too far forward and the face not being far enough out. (And of course, seeing things in profile is hard.)

    If I could give you an assignment, I'd say do some side studies from reference.

    o: i love how you do a mix between digital and trad, that's awesome. it seems like you draw a lot of people though, imo it would be great to see you go into places that you're less comfortable with and practice with that? c: though tbh, i don't really have a right to comment /u/;;

    That Haruhi is great, looks like she's plotting something. (Though her pose looks a little unbalanced, even assuming she's leaning against something.) You've got a really lively style. =)

    Haha my favourite is definitely the girl on the computer! I can even imagine myself sitting in a scrunched position staring right into the computer screen without knowing it XD

    You've cultivated a pretty prime style! I imagine it'll only get more refined through the studies you'll be doing in the future! keep it up. If I had to pick a few points of improvement I'd say diversify your body types and do a couple color studies. Your current palettes seem to be a bit simple and limited. Over all I like what I'm seeing though [:! more plz.

    i saw you posting in a bunch of sketchbooks, so i thought i'd check out yours! you studies from life/photos are really great, but your style feels especially "deviantart"-y to me.. if that makes any sense haha i guess it's not a bad thing though, it's still pleasing to the eye

    Well I don't know if there is a special category for deviantart XD but my influences are mostly from comics and animation, so I guess that is more popular? Thank you for commenting

    Was that meant to be Amélie in the first post? It reminds me of her, except you made her look evil. Amélie looked very innocent, even when she was mischievious.

    I noticed you're adding detail to your character's ears but it doesn't look right. Check how a real ear is and then stylize from that. You can find a good simple explanation of the ear structure here: http://www.lostonwallace.com/ear.jpg

    Yes she's meant to be Amélie XD I had to do it before watching the movie (for a friend), so I haven't captured her personality right...
