So this is a WIP but I'm already feeling some structural problems (that I can't identify).
I realize it's stylized but anatomy still applies so...anyone want to give a fresh eye/some experienced tips?
Thanks in advance for being awesome!

His head looks pretty huge in a way that makes it look confusing instead of stylized (as in "is this a kid with an adult's face or an adult with a kid's body"). Get a ref photo, it should help a lot.

Adding to the too-large head, her(?) left arm looks like a stick. Look at some refs to get a more realistic outline -and if the person is thrusting the hand towards that smoke thingy the shoulder will move accordingly (aka to the left). You could try reenacting the pose in front of a mirror![]()
Please take a look at my Sketchbook! <- Comments are highly appreciated and returned C:
The arms feel way too stumpy, or maybe the whole proportion of the body, it also feels way too rigid, I mean, if some crazy ( whatever it is ) was coming at you, you would probably ( especially as a fighter ) would be dropping your stance, your legs would be apart to give some stability and the arms would be powerful, right now its not got that power. That, pow ka pow.
Another thing is, there is way too much black, black is like, a massive drain on colour, and some styles it suits, but right now it looks like a crazy mess, theres no definition and it really removes that image.
My suggestion to improve is:
Get a reference, or take a photo of a friend, anyone who knows how to do a martial arts stance would really help, it would add power, define the muscles, whatever they're doing they'll probably be straining, make this image scream power.
Remove the black, change the lines to be thinner, this will show you how much space you've taken up with those brush strokes, and all that space that suddenly makes no sense.
