Wasp Anyone want to give some feedback on basic bouncig balls?

If anyone's interested, would you give some feedback on how these bouncing balls are working or not? I'm in the middle of working on this, and most of the major movements are plotted in. Please use as layman's term as possible... until 10/05 this year, I was still a 2D painter and illustrator, having never touched 3D animation in my life! Thanks in advance!

It is clear one ball is heavy and another one is light, you might want to double-check the timing for the light ball. I'm not sure about how the smallest ball is moving?

You might also want to check the trajectory on your lighter ball before it hits the heavy ball.

Hello =D nice animation but I see two problems :

1 - I think the heavy ball need to bounce less than the light ball (actually they look like they have the same weight), if the big ball is really heavy it wouldn't rebond on the trap board but push it (or break if you're extreme) and it will have very few bounce once it hit the ground. Plus you can enchance the effect of the weight by a little shake the 2/3 frames after the hit.

2- The acting of your ball is not really readable, why she have to move all around the scene before pushing the button ? I think it will be better if she go straight to the button after noticing it, then turn around the button for showing her interest, go back (anticipation) and then jump on it (action). You need also to be less linear in your trajectory and timing too, try to change speed not always making slow to fast to slow for going to point A to B (I don't know if i'm really clear here ><)

That's what I think needed to be corrected but i'm not a pro just a student, and for the positive things I really like the light ball, nothing to change about it and plus it have an awesome rhythm! The ending squashes are really cool too =D May I ask you what software did you use ?
    Sketchbook ! Don't hesitate to crit' =D

Thanks for your feedback! The Heavy is the medium one on the right, so it's not bouncing off the trapdoor, is that what you're talking about? We weren't to do any camera shakes for this first project, plus I don't know how to either... lol!

The acting ball is supposed to show 1 emotion (curious) that changes to another (frightened by the crashing shelf) within the sequence. I probably should've use the medium size ball for acting, and the smallest for Heavy, so you can see its action better when it's in the back?

The program we're using in this class is Autodesk SoftImage

As long as there are no time constraints, I think slowing down the "acting ball" would help a lot. right now the ball seems as though it is hopped up on caffeine! lol. give it more time to be curious. have it look around the apparatus a bit more, and if at all possible, maybe bring the button a little bit closer. as it is, the acting ball becomes kind of hard to see when it is over by the button, and it's hard to see the curiosity IMO.
    Fudge this AWESOME place!!!

My SKETCHBOOK: please critique! i can take it!

I had the speeding acting ball problem pointed out by other people as well, lol! Will definitely take rhythm and pause into consideration in current animation project. Thank you!

Fix your update loop so that it always runs at 60HZ (or similar)
