    US General Erection 2012

The United States is the richest, most powerful, most racially and socially diverse nation on Earth, which explains why its citizens are all so angry and depressed and want Change.

If youre in the US and have the right to vote, who's policies and supporters do like, but way more importantly which do you think are like, totally stupid and retarded?

To get the ball rolling, here's political activist and occaisional film maker Joss Whedon's suggestion:

I realisr they dont embody traditional American values of unrestrained greed and treating poor people and immigrants like garbage but I thought the things those Maoists wanted to do sounded quite good. Id vote for them.

And, if you were in an American "swing state," with razor thin margins, you, the elderly hippies and the Occupy kiddies might just tilt the race to Romney! (Oh, teh irony. . .)

Im not really sure but isnt Romney the evil one who lies a lot and is basically the CEO of OCP?

Nah Id vote Obama, hes hip and black and catches flies and seems to be happy to let women decide whether or not they have an abortion.

What happened to that Rue Paul guy? He was funny.

    Check out his campaign speech:

If Romney wins the US will have the blandest president in a long time... At least Obama is funny.

But seriously. If you really want change I don't think either the Democrats or the Republicans are the party to vote for.

On a serious note. It's a douche and a turd race. It doesn't matter either way because unless somehow there's a straight up landslide victory for one side it doesn't matter. Oh what's that? You got the president you wanted but there isn't a clear majority in congress. Filibuster, stalling and nothing gets accomplished anyways. Congress has been ridiculous this last term. Broke a few records even.

Honestly a president has some power but not that much.

On another note. I don't like Romney because he's the epitome of the "I'll say anything to get a vote" politics. The guy has lied more and changed his stances so much it's pretty much impossible to take him on his word for anything. Then the fact that he was a corporate big wig doesn't help either. Middle class my ass.

FightingSeraph, it sucks that we have one party under whose leadership those of us not absolutely stinking rich will be impoverished, imprisoned, and poisoned at a slightly slower rate than if the other party wins.

Its not the difference between the candidates its the difference between the two parties platforms. Read both parties platform stances.

Well, let's see: Obama is a Harvard educated lawyer who became a multi-millionaire by writing a couple books about himself.

And, Romney is a Harvard educated lawyer who became a multi-millionaire by investing in companies like "Staples" so that members of the working class can have $12 an hour jobs putting reams of paper on shelves.

So, no, not really. . . and for the greater good of the U.S. of A, we should probably send up lots of drones over Harvard Law School to rain down Hellfire Missiles upon people like them while they are still in their larval stage.

America is essentially a one-party state. The one party has two wings: a right wing (the Democrats) and a far right wing (the Republicans.) :-)

In any election, no matter how many run-offs you have, you're eventually going to come down to two choices. Both will be a compromise among a range of groups. Two parties just facilitate the inevitable, and it's funny how well they divy up support on each issue. It'd be interesting to explore to what extent political parties reflect their constituents' beliefs, and to what extent they lead, feed, or influence those beliefs. My guess is they have the most influence at the start of a new issue, when it's first publicized.

In a 2 party system, both parties appear similar because they are both moderate, a good thing, as it reflects compromise. The fact that they look similar in America means that we're not all that different, which is crucial to a functioning democracy. Extremism breaks down any democracy (Ask Iraq). This is nothing like a one-party system where voting is a matter of public record, and opponents and their supporters are harassed, shot, imprisoned, etc.

I think the most amazing thing is how its on such a knife edge. How much did GW Bush have to cheat by to be the most powerful man in the world, 10,000 votes??

I believe Obama is a Harvard constitutional lawyer. Who blows up U.S citizens in other countries using drones or capture them using NDAA. Well there's goes due process for ya.
Now, It probable that Romney is going to get that kind power.
