Smile Welcome to my inner world of color~ ^^

Hello, everyone, I came from China,I am a girl. My English is not good, and this is my first time to post in English.I like drawing from childhood but I start to learn professional painting when I graduated from the University.(I learnt Chinese in the University). It's gone about three years later since I picked up a paintbrush once again. Some students who graduate from the professional academy of fine arts laught at me when I started to learn painting, but the others helped me and encouraged me.I appreciated their kind words very much.
Although painting brought pain to me , but I still don't want to give it up. My hand-drawing is not good all the time compared with the students majoring in fine arts.I am very depressed. So I hope to make friends with common interests here,I hope to progress with everybody together ,I hope to share happiness and troubles with friends in the life ,I hope you will like me Thanks !

    Welcome to CA, Freyaa!

Oh don't worry, I know that feeling all too well. I tend to get depressed a lot too. I've never gone to any art schools before, only this 5 month long concept art course which ends in a week for me. So I kind of ruined a whole lot of my art career~

Well said! Don't ever give up on drawing! It's one of the best hobby/ profession in the world.

And I can't wait to see you start posting your sketches, studies etc! : )

    Cheers,

    Peter

    You're quite welcome.

Your english is good enough for me. Don't worry, I understand it.

And now let's see. I've always likes artists who use saturated colors. But don't go overbroad. If you use saturated colors everywhere on your pictures, it will ruin the focal points and the composition as well and makes the pictures quite hectic and difficult to understand.

If I were you, I'd only use such colors at the main focal points. That way the drawing will be much more pleasant to the viewer.

I love the girl's face on your last picture. Just a little anatomical problem: the arms. Her right (to us) is a bit tad too long while her left arm is rather stiff. These aren't much of a huge mistake so you can correct them quite fast.
And what I mentioned earlier, Try thinking about the point where you want to guide the viewers' eyes. Lower the saturation of the background and focus more on the girl.

Oh and last but not least, keep posting! ; )
