Hi Charlotte, don't want to keep something as nice as this hidden.

This is really lovely, I like your style a lot. I agree with dpaint on the lighting - with the moon RIGHT THERE behind the kid, I think he'd be a lot more in silhouette, kind of like this:

    Really like your composition, BTW.

i'm suprised this thread hasn't generated more responses.

I like this one a lot. I'm digging the style and composition. Agreed with Revi on the lighting. Good work overall though.

That happens sometimes with pictures that are far in the rendering stage, especially when the
skill of the artist is so apparent. Not always easy to crit a good stylised piece as the problems are
not always visible to more casual observers.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I was worried about using so much shading on him, but I can see now that it really works, Thanks again

Consider dropping the horizon of the bg buildings some, or get rid the one building blocking the silhouette of the cat. Things to think about what kind of emotional impact are you trying to convey? what is the relationship between the boy and the cat? Im not sure what he's holding...an umbrella? Make the design a little clearer. If you still want to light him so that his features show you can add a light that is behind the camera that lights him frontally....in other words so when the form of his body curves away from the viewer it could go into silhouette and as it comes closer it can come back into light to see his expression. I hope this helps.

He's a victorian chimney sweep, thats his brush for cleaning the chimneys. I think it probably needs to be a bit thicker.

This is really helpful, i'll be definately be trying that out, Thank you so much!
