Hey Slash!, That Android inspired one is sick! Looks like the whole 3D/2D combination has done wonders for you! Keep at it and good luck.
I didn't meet you at the workshop by the way, but I was the bald kid, I saw you at the airport and I think you lost your suitcase. It was funny.
Keep at it, and good luck!
Hey Slash!.... What a difference between the first and second page!
You´ve really progressed!
By the way: Love the norwegian woman, Grooveholmes mentioned
A pleasure having met you in Prague
How is your band doing?
hi slash,
as johnny said, great improvement since page 1. Your anatomy is like 10 times better.
I like the android in the last post, though I think he is sometimes a bit to blurry. But absolutely like the design![]()
Slash--
Wow... the leaps and bounds you've made in improving your skills is inspiring. It seems like some of your little breaks did nothing but good things for you, and it seems like Prague did even more. Your anatomy, sense of line, value and lighting, color, composition.... Everything has improved a thousand fold since you started this book. I'm really looking forward to seeing where you go with this.
wow dude, some real huge improvement goin on here!!! Especially your figures are gettin better and better!! I really like the mech, some more of that please
Keep on rocking!!

Nice work man! That mech is looking dopeThose portraits are sweet as well. Great improvements.. keep rocking!
@tensai: Thanks a lot! I'll try!
@madplanet: thanks! I have some sketches from prague, and i'll probalby scan them later on. They arent that interesting tho, since its mostly quick pose lifedrawings.
@Hurri: thanks dude! you know i love you.
@Miau: Thanks. Im really sorry, but i cant connect your nick to a face. It was probably awesome meeting you there too tho, since everyone were such nice people.
@dCept: Thanks! Yeah, i hear you man! I miss it all! Until next time we just have to polish our skillz.
@blog: Thanks. glad you like it. me losing my bag wasnt funny at all.I cant remember you from the airport, im sorry.
@johnny: Hey dude! It was cool talking to you in prague! My band is doing great, playing gigs and creating musical fusion.Oh, and thanks for the compliments!
@Haldor: Thanks dude! I'll run over him and give him another pass as soon as i find my wacom. (yeah i know, im feeling pretty much amputated without it. On the bright side i get to polish my graphite skills more..)
@Bdfoster: Thanks a lot for the kind words! Keep watching and you'll see where it ends.(i sure as hell dont know yet.
)
@Gloominati: Thanks! I'll see what i can do. I do have a graphite mech in this update tho, if that tickles your fancy. Not by far in the same style as the one above tho..
@Some Guy: Thanks for the kind words!
And finally, here's a little of what i've been doing since prague. Since i have to borrow my dads all-in-one printer/scanner/fax, i dont scan everything i do anymore. Its just too much of a hassle. But i do have SOME stuff for you guys:
Here's an underwater scene thing with some fishy-men thumnails.
(click here to see a higher rez version.)
Here's a harem type fishy-girl, the idea is based around a goldfish:
Here's a sketch i did for a ch.o.w., that i never finished:
Mod stuff:
This guy didnt start out this gay, i dont know where i took the wrong turn. But i decided to embrace it instead of fighting it. LOL.
Thats all for now people, i thank you all for the support!
you're right, prague was really inspirational to us all, there's alot to learn from ws's like that and i can already see a change in your style. keep it up, you're on the right track..
Slash--
Great update man. It really seems like your graphite skills are improving. I love the toned Sketchbook with the white charcoal/conte. Wht kind of book are you working in?
I really dig the bot sketch and your figures. One note on the figure labelled "mod stuff"-- be cautious about your forms. It really seems like you've focused on the clothing and forgotten the forms underneath. It should look like there's a body underneath those clothes, and right now I'm not buying it.
Keep up the great work!
Rofl.. that gay guy ... its hard not to like the pic. Nice updates man.
nice updates![]()
Hows life treating ya? I really like this last ones on toned paper,
nice fell for form! ill be back for more for sure!![]()
HAHAHA! The gay dude is cool! His pose is a lot more dynamic than the guy from the mod-stuff as well. Coolness.. You're improving!
Keep 'em coming! Catch ya on MSN
peace

damn man you're seriosly kicking some ass in here!

hey Slash!
Wow, I really like the fishy-girl a lot.
She has great curving lines and motion.
Just remember not to place the boobs too high!
best,
emily
Stunning work, Slash! It's crazy how much of an improvement you've made. Your imagination and skill-leaping makes me want to draw more!

It's awesome to see the amount of progres youi've accomplished. You've gone a long way since you started this thread. Gives hope to a doodler like me. My fav here is that gay guy. There's something in the shading and highlighting and the contourlines that makes it look great. One thing I would crit though is the hands and the arms seem to be the weakest point in your anatomy. It kind of spoils the look in this otherwise great drawing. But do not get me wrong, I really like what I see here. See you again soon.
@Slayer: Thanks!
@Bdfoster: Thanks! To tell you the truth, i dont know what kind of book it is, since i got it from yumiko in prague. You're spot on with those clothes, i should mind my form. But since it was just for the purpose of showing a clothing idea, i got lazy. I know, i know, thats not an excuse. I'll do it better next time
@Some guy: Hehe, glad you like it! You know, if you wanna dress like that yourself, there's noone stopping you. I promise you'll feel pretty!
@Haldor: Thanks!
@Luis: Ey cabron! glad you like it. I'll be sure to do my best, so you enjoy your next visit!
@Dcept: Thanks mate. have a beer! pax ex.
@Xpose: Thanks. Thats my plan, to leave my bootprint on the ass of the world!
@Emily: Thanks! I kinda like her too. Atleast the idea, im not sure im gonna like her as much when i start rendering out all those golden scales. About the boobs, i was thinking, since she's underwater and all, gravity will be reversed, so that they actually float. But thats no excuse for placing them too high on the chest tho.
thanks for the heads up, and thanks for the visit. Do return!
@Quicksilver: Thank you very much for the kind words! Its inspiring to be inspiring!
@Steinmetz: I see you have changed your avatar. He looks even angrier now! Thanks for the encouragement!
@Placeboast: Thanks for your reply. You're right about the hands. I was going for a cartoony feel for the whole character at first, but i kept refining it, and the arms got kind of left behind. And im not that good at drawing hands without reference. Soo... well.. hehe. Anyways, thanks for your reply, and welcome back!
And now for todays update. Its a WIP for my degenesis CHOW. Im probably gonna start all over again, since im not satisfied with proportions and the pose. And dont even get me started on the face. Bleh! I tried to make the nose look broken, it ended up looking retarded. But please, leave C&C, since im using this idea as a base for my next iteration of the character. Im going all marko style with this one, white paper, beers, cigarettes, HB pencil, and starting over if i dont like it. Its a degenesis character after all!(All i need now is mad skills, but that will probably come with time and practice.)

this is some hot stuff slash.
your dead set on the right track.
just keep and it and youll be pro in no time.
Good lookin'! I already slapped some crits on that one over at storedyret, so I'll just pat ass here..hehe.. lookin' forward to the update, man!

Slash--
Dig the CHOW. You've got a real nice quality of line and great rhythm to your values building up. I dig the pose, but I can see what your issues with the proportions are. Keep banging at it... And don't forget the T-Dome!!!
I think the left forearm is a little too long, but it works the way it is.

haha until now i only associated the lounge with your name.
somehow it escaped me that you' re actually doin cool stuff aswell
i apologize![]()
hey slash, this thread is looking so nice. I'm totally blown away that you could do that multi-armed robot with
1.) a FREAKING MOUSE! and
2.) all that snow in your beard. damn dude, just towel that stuff off. geez.
The image at the top of the page with the girl and the delicate shading is very nice and handled deftly. I'd like to see more work posted here though, looks like you haven't posted in almost a month -- and this is why my heart is broken. the stuff on colored paper (even the hillarious prancing gay warrior) is really well done; i know how difficult that is to pull off.
My new battle cry, heard round the world: "DON'T LET THE S-CHONICLES DIE! RAAAWRRRR!!!"
