getting better - but check those lips, you're migrating from linework to proper value shding, but you've kept those thick lines for determining the shape...don't, use value like you did for a lot of the rest of the image.
Thanks alot for the tip magic, thats exactly the kind of advice i need. I will keep it in mind on the next drawing.
Those look great, but 2 minor aspects are that some of your figures seem stiff. Also, the features on your faces seem completely seperate from the actual face. More studies please.
no problem man, looks like you're shifting gears, great to see, keep it up.Originally Posted by Slash

Good job keep it up.

I posted these other places around the forum, but i'll repost them here to keep this thread alive.
That last figure is looking very good. Very good proportions. One of her eyes seems a bit off, her left eye (on the right side of the picture). It loos a bit tilted up... maybe placing it more downwards. The rest of the body looks very good.
The girl with the heart antenaes holding her hands, her arms may be a bit short, the elbow looks a bit far up. Elbows coincide with the waist line (I think).
Keep 'em coming! you've made progress indeed : )

I've been doing a lot of quick gesture drawings lately. I wont bother you by posting all of them. (And quite frankly, i cant be bothered to scan them all! lol)
I've spent around 30 seconds on each of them. Sometimes a little less, sometime more.

hey man,
wow, looking back from 2004 and Im really impressed by the progression in your sketches and gestures. Your 30 second studies are good and your renderings look really strong.. the most recent one of the chick in the bath especially so! Just keep doing what your doing man, keep working that anatomy and chipping away at those studies and let your imagination go wild!
Cheers dood,

Biz & Eri: Thanks for the encouragement guys! mucho love.
Here's some more from this thread. Sorry for the double dipping, but i want this thread to stay alive.
bluemech and magicman done on wrapping paper.
Just looked through your sketchbook. The change from before your 5 month break and after is phenomenal. Bluemech's face comes across a little flat in your latest post (maybe because BM's face is flat. Oooh. Burn.), but Magicman is the awesome.
thanks!
I'll have to ask blue that..![]()
Slash, you've been updating quite often these days... are you unemployed again?
░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒█
Lol, yes, now that you mention it..
But on the bright side, i get to practice what i love, (and no, i dont mean masturbation) and if i practice enough, i'll become good enough to do what i love for a living. (still not talking about masturbation!)
Slash, there is such a mammoth difference between your work on pages one and two of this sketchbook that I can hardly believe it's the same person doing the work. Your lines in the last several images look much more confident, and your painting style is coming along very, very nicely.
Not much else to say here besides keep going.

holyfuck slash.... your latest stuff isnt even recognizable as coming from the same person when compared to the first page.
Her face is very cute and norwegian![]()

your portraiture is coming along nicely slash, great to see some good stuff...of course, I am partial to my own portrait...you have made me very sexy. =)
Thats because you ARE sexy honeybun!
Here's a quickie done using a blend of methods i learned in prague, with most inspiration from the android demos:
Done with a mouse, since in the middle of moving stuff i seem to have misplaced my wacom.I will get rid of those yellow lines, or atleast wait to put them on until i have found the wacom and regain my line control.
jesus - that oct 10 speedpaint is a stroke of genius you got there.
nice book, keep at it man.
