tl;dr version:
Basically this is a sketch battle with a week to complete the piece.
-Each week has a different theme, interpret each theme however you please
-Work in whatever medium/field you please (character designs, environments, writing, storyboarding, 3D, 2D, animation, photography...etc.)
-Post your work/works anytime during the week
-Pieces can range from quick sketches to fully rendered Animations
-Feel free to comment, let everyone know how you're doing
-Help each other with supportive critques
-Suggest themes
-Slap your name along with the appropriate copyright tags on everything, to keep Martone off of our backs.

The Long winded Version:
I think it would be fun as well as beneficial if we attempt an art challenge. It doesn't take much effort/time, so can be done in one's spare time while keeping our creative minds active. Here is the deal--we'll have a list of themes posted for each week of the month, then everyone will post a piece/pieces of art pertaining to the theme of that week. Easy peasy.
I'd prefer that whatever you choose to submit be in the field of art you enjoy the most, instead of the one you are good at or most comfortable with. This way we keep working toward our passion and not just that which pays the bills. This is open to all mediums, so everything from animation to fasion. Example: Our theme is school. I would post some type of environment that had to do with school, because i enjoy doing environments. An animator may do a quick 2D/3D animation about school, a comic artist a page of sequentials, a writer may post a short story or a monologue/dialogue, and Vfx could do... whatever it is they do.
Feel free to critque everyones work in a supportive way to help each other out. Experimentation is encouraged.
I'll come up with the first theme, but i'll need everyone to post their theme suggestions for the weeks to come.
Of course i know some dont want to post their work online, for it maybe stolen, so tag up your stuff with your copyright crap.
I hope this will be a good way to showcase your creativity to friends, give a focus to those who need it, to keep in touch with each other without all the hooplah of the social networks, as well as to have fun and enjoy what we do.
