hello there!

I thought I'd start a sketchbook here so that I can get some good advise and critiques on what to practise more on. My goal right now is to be some kind of illustrator or concept artist.

I'll just start of with some older finished stuff:

cool stuff! a lot of your stuff looks good and shows potential and other pieces look like you need more practice with the basics. maybe try and continue with studies, anyways keep posting!

thank you very much for the feedback! I know what you mean.. I know my anatomy sucks for one thing.. i'm working on that! Feel free to point out any other things you think I could practice more on, would be a great help! thats the reason I post here, to get better! thanks again!

Nice works man. The one with the dude with the white hair is shockingly nice...I like the blurred out effect, I wonder if you use filter or brush to get that look when i see that...its sweet. the bots are cool as well. Sweet first page, keep posting!

Thank you very much froz3n! I just used a normal soft edge brush for that great to hear you guys like some of it!!

I like your artwork. I just think that you can push a little harder on the watercolors, they need more contrast. I know that watercolors dry lighter so I think you should use more paint to increase the saturation. About the drawings, yes you need anatomy studies, but that is ok, just go for it. And keep posting.

Lovely start to a sketchbook really love that last piece. The colours are sublime, as are the paint strokes. My only suggestion for were to maybe focus some efforts would be to look at thumbnails and enviro studies. The top environments all look fairly traditional in composition, maybe try out thumbnails for composition and explore new possibilities.

Thank you! So nice to hear that I'm at least making some progress! I've been trying hard lately to work out some better compositions. But you're right I should make more thumbnails!

Thanks for dropping by my sb. Really digging these last environments of yours. The colors in those clouds man . The spaceship seems a bit out of place which could be a good thing, small farm with a spaceship looming overhead does have a pretty interesting sound to it but I didnt really read it as a ship right away. Maybe putting one in the foreground a bit closer so you get a sense of scale and some detail as to what it is. Other than that man keep up the work.

Thanks for the feedback! My idea was a really massive spaceship in the distance, but I think the image has a lack of depth so it may be hard to tell, as you mention. Think I'm gonna add more ships behind the first one, because I think it would take up too much space if it were closer to the camera. Probably redesign the ship as well, and get some overlapping in there! Thanks again!
