Wasp Now or Never - Nick's Sketchbook (Critiques & Comments Appreciated!)

Here are some sketches I did today, taken with my camera. I'm going to try and update regularly or at least every other day! Might be a bit slow at first; trying to get back into the habit. I'll do some digital as well.

Anybody have suggestions or could point me in the right direction on how to get better quality pics of sketchbook pages and fix them better?

Did a 1-2 hour-ish floor plan thingy. I'm not very good at this; I'm gonna try to update more, maybe someday my work will look half-decent.

hey congrats on trying to get yourself into a habit of drawing daily! not sure if i have the right to comment since i'm still learning, but imo your finished still life need to be more 3-D like? i think it would be good if you tried different ways of shading instead of generally going from one direction xd good job on your last post though : D

Alright, I'll try and do that. So basically you're saying I should throw in another light source, have two light sources? In the apple/controller one it does, but I'm not very good at rendering (shading). I will do more tonal studies, and try to work on making my stuff look more 3-dimensional like you've said. Thanks for the reply!

Took a break from working on Walter White to work on a gun in perspective. Reference was used: http://www.flickr.com/photos/peosold...n/photostream/
Basically what I did was made a grid from the photo, then put a plane in perspective, then transferred the gun over. Now I'm adding the side plane, so it will actually look 3-dimensional.
