    Skraja's Sketchbook

    Hello!
I'm a 21 year old student, 3rd year at Abertay Dundee University, studying Computer Arts. The dream is to improve as much as possible in 2D art and concept development.
I've registered here awhile ago, but only now decided to bite the bullet and show my work somewhere outside university and deviantART, with hopes of getting critiques and feedback

So here are first few environment drawings:

Welcome to CA's sketchbook sector, Skraja! I'm liking these environments, they seem much more like small thumbnail studies for more elaborate pieces though, and there are a few fundamentals I'm not seeing.

As far as environment artists go, the ones I've seen do things immaculately well are very practiced when it comes to perspective, even if it's a more organic scene. I recommend you study it in depth if you really want to pursue enviro concepts and illustrations.

Second, the amount of depth in these is a bit lacking. I'd like to see you do a bit more with the atmospheric perspective and foreground, mid-ground, background formula.

That's plenty to work on for now, but I hope to see more from you in the future, good luck!

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Still need to do a whole lot more perspective studies and the use of color.

Anyhow, here's a few more thumbnails and a finished piece:

Hello CA, here's a small update. Trying some Native American characters (obviously needs more in-depth study), some 'rock' environments and League of Legends fanart (not sure if that's appropriate for this forum, though?)

Nice work, I like those first three sceneries the most. Nice, dynamic light.
That last female character is pretty good too, though I think you should tweak the colours on her face a little more. The tones are a bit flat - throw in a little more red, maybe, on the cheeks and lips. Only some light shades. Other than that, her face looks really nice.
