just an idea... i won't go with it since it's super boring, but i will probably do some more sketches and hopefully a finished piece. i like the topic.
but i had some fun doing this sketch since it's pretty small (100% zoomed in)

Nice start Cedule, lookin forward to see what you come up with.

Ive been meaning to add a card type illustration to my portfolio so this seems like a prity cool excuse I'm thinkin some necromancer chick summoning undead from graves or somethin.

    Some rough thumbs

Nice ideas guys....I really like this topic. Going to give it a blast...Here's my quick sketch just to get the idea in. My initial thought was also to have some sort of necromancer chick, but then I thought hey. Why not someone who tends to the graves of the fallen using nature magic to keep flesh flowers gracing their resting places through the autumn and winter? It's Autumn after all...Guess what colours I'm thinking?

Damien Levs - Yeah i guess the necromancer thing is kinda the most generic and obvious route, that being said you idea is prity cool and will be awesome if you can pull it off. The initial sketch is lookin good.

    sketchy sketchy!

Warburton...love this last sketch of yours. It's looking a lot more dynamic.

I have a few more ideas for different compositions...going to try em out. Time is tight on these weeklies with a full time job :/ gonna try my best, even if final is just black and white. Really love this topic. I love October

    very suggestive theme
I think I'll drive away from the fantasy/undead/necromancer topic, and try something more lovecraft-esque or poe-inspired

warburton - That coming along nicely

onez - Nice view point. I think the lighting could look super epic in this. Nice thoughts about Lovecraft/Poe!!

Here's where I am at. I am not finding this easy. That's a good thing right?
Sort of testing the colours as I go.

    WIP

first thing that came to mind was a lady reading stories to ghosts in the graveyard like wendy in peter pan
but ended up going with a wife who's about to follow her dead husband, as in acient china women were expected to accompany their husbands to their grave.
