I've been watching CA for a while, now. There's an awful lot of talent here, and boy does it make me feel a little inadequate with the things that I've been working on. Still, I'm not going to swim if I don't get in the water, so I figured I'd buck up and join in on the fun - stay a while, and maybe learn something.
I suppose an introduction is probably in order. My name is Rebecca. I consider myself part of the art world as a hobbyist more than anything. US Sailor by day - concept art hobbyist and comic book author by night (without getting technical).
I used to draw a lot of anime/manga themed art, and I think the influences sometimes still bleed into my current work, although I am working to stray further away from that. Though my free time for doing full work is limited, I am never without my sketchbook, even on the ship. I have a comic project that I'm working on called Firelight. Most of the work I post will likely be related in some way shape or form to this.
I'm coming here because I want to learn and improve. A good majority of the skill level on these boards is way above what I can even dream to accomplish, but there is a lot of artistic wisdom here that I can benefit from. I'm looking for some good criticism, some good information, and maybe a little bit of a push to point me in the right direction for my project and anything that may follow.
I look forward to meeting you folks!![]()
