More economy of brush strokes. More precision in every brush stroke. More color, less gray. A more definite and clear value composition.

I would certainly love to see the values and colors pushed in this, I agree! It's very gray as is. You have the black edges ,and the white lightning, but I think it could really use more variations of light and dark on the "power thing" itself, it sort of gets lost in a haze of ... unclarity. Perhaps adding some dark areas behind it would make the Power thing's shape really pop.

it is better now, but you can push it more, have you tried to convert it to grayscale to get better values? that may help i think.

flatten the image. dont think just do it! if this just for practice/fun, flattening your image can get a lot fuss out of the way.
try it sometime. you'll find that you are hesitant to make brush strokes, but in the end you will have a more textured, painterly image.

also I feel that the area under the power ball thing is hard to make out. is it smoke or is it rubble?

got rid of most of the layers.
checked values in grayscale
added more colour

Definitely improving, one thing I would suggest is defining the lower portion of the sphere more, as much (or more so) than the top, because sharp details draw the eye, and you want the eye to be focused on all that hokey-smokey commotion going on down there. I imagine it's very noisy.
