daang, nice dedication to those hand studies. and as i can see the life drawing class has started back up. I'll be showing up to the class around the end of the semester. anyways, just letting you know that you are doing a good job and that i haven't fallen off the edge of the planet. I'm working on something reallllly big for at the moment. It is for an art contest. winner gets a 22 inch cintiq hd and my intuos 3 is half broken... So I had to stop the challenge for the dan warren's mentorship thing because I have to get a new wacom tablet fast. but yeah, that's pretty much what is going on with me. But I can definitely see more progress from the looks of things from mine and yours work.

P.S. If you'd like to see the stages of what I'm working on you can Skype me. I'll send you a PM with my Skype address thing in case you want to see.

wow man very impressive dedication, seeing you work so hard makes me work harder! BRING IT!

also if youre doing faces, i try to always think of the eyes as half diamonds, it helps you to turn them in perspective and space easier, its all in kevin chen demo pages (they are not sorted though so you ahve to look for the info on your own) http://www.angelfire.com/art3/kchendemos/

haha, boring sketchbook eh? welcome to the club! haha. After a year's worth of hard work my work is still boring. gotta keep pushing! HEY, your proportions are MUCH better now. niiiice. in some drawings the head still gets a little big but you are definitely catching yourself more than you were in the past. progress, progress, progress.

Hey mate thanks for visiting my sketchbook. Your so called 'sloppy' study is a huge improvement if you ask me. The brush strokes on her face are wonderful! Keep up the hard work, it's paying off

good work with proportions on the latest head from imagination! what looks off is the placing of the mouth. the mouth, as you know, protrudes much more than you have it. if you were to just lasso it and move it out more to the right so it makes it look like it's more prominent this would look a thousand times better imo. So, for color, try to exaggerate the sections of color within the face. so traditionally, you'd want the top portion (from the brow up) would be more yellow and the middle section (from brow to bottom of nose) would be redder, and the bottom portion would be grayer or greener. this will add a lot more diversity to your skin tones. once you learn to implement those things within simple lighting you can then play with funky colors of light where all that really matters if it is in the right value (you can play with chroma once you get a better handle of saturation). As a tip, you should do some sargent studies, and paint them in ONLY values. once you do that, you can then paint in color mode to add washes of color that mimic the master paintings colors. Do this many times. So much progress since the beginning when you started. keep it up! gogogogoogogoggooooo!
