Thank you for your lovely comment lionheartGFX. Always nice to hear that the hard work is paying off
As for my schedule of practice... first of all, I have awesome friends to study with. It really gives you motivation to draw when you see that all your friends are doing it. They also give me a lot of critique and so on, I'm really thankful for that.
I'm also studying at a traditional art school. That is six hours every day and then I try to paint as much as I can when I come home.
The kind of studies and illustration I do, I pick because it is something in them that I want to try or learn more about. I am really trying not to paint just to basically paint (even if we all need that from time to time) but always trying to learn something from it.

Thank you brother! What a great Christmas present to get a comment from you
I probably should try out more textured brushes, have been a bit of a coward when it comes to that. Will take that into consideration in my future studies.

Your studies are pretty good. What are you learning from it? As in, how has it helped you? Just a random question. The only thing I think you are missing in your imaginative stuff is missing is some hotspots. Some highlights. That would make for some nice dynamic values. See yah!
Do a lot of work and your work will be as good as your ambitions.

Hi mate! What I learn from my studies really depends. Some times I look for the colors, some times I just looking on the over all form of a subject, or just trying to get better at drawing or render it, and so on.
And thanks for your tip about hotspots, will think about that when I start my next illustration.

Keep pushing! You're doing quite well. Major tip would be to get your strokes cleaner - use a larger brush (as large as possible at all times) avoid sketchy line-y paint. (ie the cat) You might want to try out painting with a more "thick" opace layer to build confidence in your strokes!

Thank you for your comment JordyLakiere, what you say is right. I have to be more confident with my brushstrokes and painting in general.

Evil Queen sketches. I found this kind of hard, my designs are still kinda lame, so will try to bring you ore of those.

Snow White Redesign #2 The Queen

The sketches that I posted last time was from a project that I'm running with a few classmates of mine. Our task is to redesign the tale about Snow White and this weeks challenge was the Queen.

In the tale the queen have 4 different forms. There is the Queen her self off course and then she have three disguises that she try to trick Snow white with (Old Peddler, Merchant and Country woman).

Here's my sketches for the old country woman. Probably the one I struggled most with.

I will be posting a lot from this project in the future, since this is a long running project.

Snow White Redesign #3 The Queen

Here's my sketches on the Queen disguised as an Old Merchant Woman. I wanted this one to be a bit different from the others. I imaged my merchant as a woman who have traveled the world, and can show Snow white things that she never have seen before.

Snow White Redesign #4 The Queen

The Queen disguised as an Old Peddler Woman. Still struggle a lot with those, but it feels like I'm learning from it. Next time we have a character design in this project I will just do silhouettes in the sketching process to loosen up my mind even more.
