I just thought of something cool in terms of a ranking system. What if you could hit a thumbs up on attached images. And have a box of the most popular image(s) that day. It would have to replace the grid up top, but still worth it. Don't get me wrong those images are classic, but they are getting a little played out.

Is it just me or are all the images small? They take less than half of the screen in width...
It seems like the images are scaled automatically.
If that's the case, I hope they fix it soon.

The problem is that "popular" does not necessarily equal "quality"... Usually it seems to equal boobs + fan art. And kittens. Or wolves.

Yeah, that's what I don't like about that idea myself.

Trying out the attachment manager and getting the same as zelda_geek. Worth mentioning that it doesn't always occur, and pictures look fine when previewed.

I do get a feeling some of these things are still being worked on as we speak, so no reason to make a fuss Must be a tremendous amount of work, good luck to the mods/testers/whoever.... Very happy to see these forums alive again!

Your right about that. I think it would work if the mods picked. Either way it would be cool to see the best new images every day.

Is the forum slow loading for everyone else?
The header pops up quickly but the forum take well over a minute to load.

Loads pretty instantly for me. I hope it's not taking an actual minute for you.

It's loading slow on some browsers, I have checked. I was going to alert one of the IT for this issue.

Well according to Firefox it's waiting on IP 66.150.138.143 to load.

When I run tracert I get some ugly response times starting with IP 204.70.196.30

The site is being moved to its final place which is causing the slowness. Things are afoot. Hold onto your hats as you have no idea what is coming. It should be all sorted by the weekend.

Just wanted to say the attachment manager seems to be working really, really well now. I can see the thumbs in the upload gallery so I'm no longer guessing at filenames, and I'm not having that pop-up come up asking me to fill in information for every little doodle I do.

The only thing I don't like with the forum now is every thread has a paragraph under it. Makes it clunky, clustered and I have to scroll forever just to find the thread I want. Stickys alone take up a lot of space now.

That is not a new feature. A lot of the things you are seeing are the result of work being done in the
background. Lots of changes still coming. The paragraphs are only temporary.

This is usually a reflection of the base that votes for the images. Since we're not furries, and actually have good taste in aesthetics, I wouldn't worry too much about those kind of images popping up on the top of the forums. However, as a safeguard, you can have a downvote feature - Limited uses per day, for both up and down votes, once per image, of course, and like, say, 3 per day, to prevent a vote inflation, whether good intentioned or not.

Still, pretty neat idea - the more "popular"/up voted images will have a slightly bigger space/placement composition on the banner, proportional to how many votes they have, relative to others.

Just my ideas, but that's a luxury feature right now, and it's up to management and ca.org to put it in, if they want. I'll still be here, regardless.

I know you're being tongue-in-cheek, Elwell But everyone needs validation and affirmation - with the latter, the self aspect only goes so far. No wo/man is an island, regardless of how many times and strongly they deny it. In fact, the more they do so, the more it's apparent (To me, at least), that it's all a facade held up by rickety shoots. Bonus points if they try to put up a veneer of false humility, and attack and undermine others.

Is anyone else getting 'database error' whenever they try editing a post? Wondering if it's an issue on my end or just upgrading kinks being worked out.
