    A wild Chen appears!

    So, uhm... hello! ^^°

I've been sort of throwing shy glances at this forum for a while now. It's probably the biggest forum I've ever been in so far, and I am a bit intimidated by so many great artists all in one place, so please don't mind me when I act shy or don't know what to say?

Basically, I love art, and I really want to learn it. My main reason for that is that I constantly have stuff in my head, stories, characters, worlds... and I want to make it visible and share it with others through art.

I'm more of a storyteller than anything else though, so for far too long, I've been focusing on drawing people and yeah. I want to learn more.

The job of my dreams would be to work in Game Design later on and write and illustrate concepts for video games for a living. But I think I'd be happy ending up somewhere in comics, freelancing or maybe even in animation, too. The most important thing to me is that I acquire the skill to tell my stories, and get to tell them somehow. Privately in the afternoons or for a living.

I really got into art back when the Sailor Moon anime was first published in Germany. I really loved the style of Toei Animation, and tried to emulate it as a child. By now I have moved further away from that, but people still tell me that my style is very manga-/animelike and it makes me a bit insecure.

I haven't been able to attend much in arts classes or anything since I've started, save for the minimum art education at school and one Life Drawing class. Everything I can is self-taught with the help of tutorials and friends, and since I have no money to fund any kind of further education - and won't reach the level most public schools seem to be looking for for another while now - Conceptart.org is kind of my hope to get good feedback and maybe even some nice mentors who can teach me a thing or too. I'm not good at learning without teachers at all, so that would be really nice.

In case you want to see a bit more of what I do art-wise, I've linked my art blog as homepage and stuff.

    Here's to a good time together. :3

Hey, I know exactly what you mean. I always have some kind of character or story brewing inside my head! But what gets me irritated is the fact that I can't act on it. It's like the ideas that are going on in my head need a better skilled artist than I actually am.
I'm no teacher. But I am in the same place that you are. We both need some help! Hopefully we can get through whatever we're going through together. I know nothing about this site, but from what I've heard, it helps you get inspired by socializing with other artists. I just found out about this site a couple days ago and just a few minutes ago I made this account.
I'm definately going to check out some of your stuff.

Thanks a lot you two! ;u; And yes Papacito, that's exactly how I feel! It's always like a coinflip if I can execute my idea or not. It'd be great if we you grow and develop together! ^u^

    Thank you, Psychotime!
