Hello all. Keeping mind in art and sketching, I open up a sketchbook here to learn new stuff. I've been drawing traditional for a while and digitally about three years now. Comments and critique very welcome.

A work I'm now doing, have to fix a lot of stuff still, first on list are:
-left hand
-left shoulder
-nose
Great work on this! The blue sets a tangible mood. I look forward to seeing it done![]()
WRappii Thank you very much, I'll post a new one when I've got it forward again.
Welcome to CA! Great start with those pictures, and I really like the color scheme on the last one, as well as painterly feel to it, it shows that you have a traditional background. Hope ya finish it and post more.![]()
Stantz I'll do my best to keep this up. ^^
Oooh, nice painting.
The figure is working fine, in my opinion the weakest areas are the forest on the background and the perspective. I can't make sense of it, with the trees, sofa and lines on the ground pointing each to different horizon lines.
Ananda C Thank you for the comment, I definetly need to think about the perspective more.
Good stuff! looking ofrward for more!
Steeliebob Thank you, I try to post frequently.
Impressive, impressive -want to see more!![]()
Practising painting thumbnails (and environments), used about 10minutes max to each. Mainly done with one brush too. Feels like a good warm up practise. Used random ref images and painted with really zoomed out canvas so that I had no chance to start detailing these.
Heyriel Thank you very much, updated todays sketches right now.
They are really damn cool! (Especially for as little as 10min)Good idea for practicing, too, might give it a try myself c:
Heyriel Thank you. Just keep the canvas zoomed out and work from bacground to foreground. Would be nice to see your practises too.
nice start, looking forward to more posts!
kevin_ Thank you, trying to keep updated frequently.
A bit of last night sketching, traditional this time. Lingonberries to A5 sized sketchbook with pencil. And my scanner eating up the finest lines. Probably it's mad at me 'cause I've let it collect dust for a while.
Worked forward the painting. Nose, left shoulder, left hand worked forward. Changed background to suit the story of the picture better.
Traditional again, A5 size, black graphic pencil. This time anatomy study from "the artists complete guide to facial expressions" book by Gary Faigin. Face and facial bones to try to learn where different stuff goes to. Scribbles underneath the drawing are my notes about this stuff.

Continued the sketch of lingonberries to little digital painting sketch about complementary colours.
Hi! Great work with most forms, but I'd suggest you study the planes of the face and head! Still, you're much more advanced then I am, so it's hard to give a good critique! Keep it up, mate!![]()
Sketchbook --I'd love some feedback!
Randomeister Hmm, probably should open up the Loomis books again and try couple of studies from there. Thank you for the comment.
Drawing face at night, so late it could be said it's early results faces which you can cut in half and make two faces of. Seriously speaking flipping the image really helps, but not at night. Going to sleep now.
Hey! Good work so far, uhm the proportions in the last face aren't bad, although I think you need to spend some time working out the features. They are uhm very simple, the way you've done them, very symbolic of what the features actually look like. I guess an example is the eyes, if you look there are no lids...but yeah I mean I get if you were tired haha we all have those drawings.Either way, keep it up!

Psychobuddy Thank you! Yeah, drawing while tired is sort of dangerous. Looked at the drawing this morning and decited it was worth continuing. ^^
Continuing the last one when my brains are working again. Here is the updated version.
Hey man thanks for dropping by my SB. Yours is looking really good. I really like the environment thumbnails, would like to see some more of them! Also really like the colors you managed to get into that knights face. Keep it up!
Pundt My pleasure, was cool to see your SB. Thank you. Will definetly do some more environment thumbnails, they're good practise to me. The colours on the knights face were fun to pick up.
