Question A question of colours with markers

    Hi everyone,

I have been considering getting a set of markers to do some colour work in my sketchbook, as at the moment most of it is digital painting.

I wanted to get a set of 24 Letraset TRIA's, as to be honest they are not as expensive as Copic but a good starting point for higher quality markers (already used greyscale Copic Ciao's, want to take a strong step forwards).

All Im wondering is are there any marker veterans that could suggest the right set to start off with in terms of colour schemes???? as I cant make my mind up:

    http://www.letraset.com/products/38-Tria-24-Sets/

You would think the illustration set but they are all very earthy colours, and I am naturally in this to do some concept's, creature and people, maybe locations, so I need something fairly well rounded??

Suggestions would be very welcome, which set should I go for? thanks

I always went for sets with brighter primary colors because its is easy to muddy things up if you need to. It is also good to have a set of prismacolor pencils to add details and highlights.

Thanks a lot for that ideas, its good to know you use pencils for the finer detail as opposed to the finer nibs on the pens, it makes sense though to get strong details and not worry about the blending of the ink when overlaying that detail on top.
Something like that had funnily enough, not occurred to me, I think that sounds like a great idea! Will have to invest.

Any other thoughts from people would be appreciated.

Personally i use greys, ice and warms. I bought colors but i don't like the result so i end up not using them in any occasion : \
