Another social network thing! PLEASE READ before Judging :)

I created a ning network and simply called it ART STUDENTS LEAGUE OF CONCEPT DESIGN!
basically I thought a social network dedicated to user contribution of Concept art Tutorials, kind of like CGMW LINK:http://www.cgmwonline.com/
but with a social aspect to it like the Art Students League of New Yorks original philosophy LINK:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_Stu...ue_of_New_York

And the main Idea of the site would be user contribution and totally FREE workshop/tutorials of a high quality(discussed later) and equality to appeal to both beginners and pro artists without discrimination.

    The Problem and execution:
Even CGMW has blurry videos and bad audio and they charge up to $500 a workshop, So Id like to get some HOW to and help videos for proper lighting and audio set-ups etc to help people with their tutorials basically like this LINK: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCKeu...ure=plpp_video

We all know the features of a social network but its the philosophy and quality control that would make this site different.

So if anyone is interested and wants to contribute please sign up (can use your Facebook account as well) at NETWORK: http://conceptartworkshopstutorials.ning.com/ or
send me emails on improvement or ideas to EMAIL: [email protected]

I'm offering an idea and just hoping others think its an idea worth helping wit and joining.

Its not about ME or me trying to get net presence or become popular or make money, its about the IDEA and helping each other as Artists, so hopefully Anyone with the skill to contribute or admin, can help with site decisions and everything would be a group effort and admins members ideas would have top priority.

Thanks for reading if you got this far

You tell people to contact you via email and IMs and other websites and then
leave a sarcastic message in your own thread when there are no replies. That
    is stupid.

You have a lot to learn about self-promotion.

I didnt mean it to be sarcastic was generally saying thanks for at least getting views, I really should of stated that.. was just saying, well ok thanks and anyways as in oh well nobody else agreed. I am bit bummed but nobody elses fault.

Im not trying to promote anything, wasnt looking for everyone to be all like wow look at his site , was just interested in anybody thinking it be worth investing their time in.

Maybe self promotion would of been a better approach as people would see im not just stuffing around, but just not in my nature to be all look at me I rock lol.

I do however would prefer not to be referenced to as stupid but hey, your entitled to your opinion and since this thread is dead and already made me come off badly, I wont make it any worse by repetitively trying to defend a as you say 'stupid' statement no matter what the intention was. Just thought I should at least try to explain.

    Your sketchbook is awesome btw.

Dammit, I hate it when people are nice to me when they
have no reason to be. It's my major weakness.

EDIT: Looking again, perhaps sarcastic was the wrong word and
I know the word 'stupid' is harsh, but I mean bumping your thread
with a seemingly a sad statement does not inspire confidence in your
idea. That is not a clever thing to do by any means.

I would also consider working on that wall of text in the OP.

Yeah your right probably not the best idea. As for the wall of text I found it hard to get the idea of a site with video tutorials of high quality with a community based attitude across while defending it as not another social network thing, without me going off in 10 different directions trying to explain lol

Starting something new is always a good idea, and innovating and answering the world's problems in a better and new way should be your main concern. Be prepared though, please hear my warning: you must be ready to dedicate your life to answering those questions. There is no such, make a social network or site fast and people will love and flock to it. It takes months of iteration, programming, designing, building, marketing, failing, testing, testing again, and maybe you have something that is close to a start after that. Look at it as getting proficient in drawing, it takes sometimes 10,000+ hours. However the rewards of knowing you could be helping a lot of people at the end of the day is all worth it, just please know the cost. But if you are willing, go build your dream!

How do I know? Here's a thread for the app we are building for designers: HERE

Luckily Ning has support for forum, video, photo and member profiles which is all customizable further with css. Paid add-ons extend stuff further, I've used the site with another network and found it easy to use can even change theme and customize your own member pages.

But I get your meaning a friend and I have been working on our own game since we were like 14 started on commodore 64 to visual basic, java to c++ lol, maybe get their one day but the journey is half the fun, is all self taught.

Hi fellow southern hemisphere-er , yeh its the people that make the site, genuine people genuine site.
