I currently thinking about a career in illustration, and was wondering what are some of the top schools on the east cost (usa). I am considering Carnegie Mellon University, Yale, and SCAD. Could anyone shed some light on these programs, or suggest some new ones? thanks!

"Career in the digital arts" is way too vague for us to be able to help you. Do you want to be an animator? A graphic designer? A conceptual artist using computers as a medium?

Focusing on the distinction between digital and traditional art is missing the point. An illustrator who works digitally will use maybe ninety five percent of the same skills and illustrator who works traditionally would; an animator who works digitally uses maybe eighty percent of the same skills, and so on.
