Great use of light! Keep posting and i'll keep watching.
Thanks for being my first poster! These are older images and i think they may be a bit dark on other peoples monitors. I will post more very soon, maybe a lot lighter as well!!!
Great work so far, you're anatomy studies are very good, keep practicing and you'll keep getting better. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Icedearth15876 for taking the time to look and comment!![]()
Your lighting is really nice, and I see nice form description. I really like how dark they are, they remind me a lot of chiaroscuro. Hope to see more updates!

Good works! your anatomy studies are very good, keep it up!my friend!
nice studies! proportions are a tiiiny bit off maybe, otherwise great!
maybe you're getting caught up in too much detail too soon? try simplifying things a little, it's also faster and fun to draw.
Thank you all for your time and posts! I plan on posting a lot more often then I did in my very very old sketchbook. Just painting and having fun while I learn! So here is some older stuff....
More older sketches!
Another... I hope these images are light enough for you all to see...
Liking that new inked looking character! Keep up the woork and push some studies too!
The last post for tonight is something I started the other day but did not finish... was just playing around on a rainy day. Im posting it twice... the original and a lighter one... I think my images are posting too dark so... eh.. let me know what you think! thanks!!!
Thanks for your time Kidult, I will definitely keep pushing my studies!!![]()
Yeah your digital images are really dark. The background is dark grey and some of the characters blend into the background. In your last post the second image has a good level of lightness though, so keep them like that. Despite the darkness I actually think you have good contrast. I really like the character thumbnail from post #11. Purhaps you can make more thumbnails. Great stuff!
thank you for the post and advice RickyS!![]()
Thanks for the responses guys!
Really am ashamed of my art, great work keep it up.
Nice pencils and good b\w rendering. Probably you miss a little bit of sharpness on the edges and smootheness in values (try to smudge gradients with a textured brush). Keep it up man!

@Seraph Fawkes: thank you for the comment and advice, I will work on my smoothness. Sometimes I kind of like the rough kind of look to my work, but I know I should smooth things out more! Thanks again for the comment!![]()

Here goes some fast practice for tonight!...
Hi Starr
Keep doing those studies, they are paying off! Try to use bigger brushes, and use less strokes to define the forms. Do not go for details or ultra smootheness unless everything is in the right place
Hope that helps, keep at it!
Great studies Starr they feel really three dimensional, I agree with Morgado about maybe loosening up a bit more and using bigger brushes. Quite often less is more when it comes to brush strokes/pencil marks. It's shaping up to be a lovely sketchbook, just keep em coming![]()
@Morgado: Thank you so much for the advice! I will keep this in mind when I am painting!
@Jacky-Boy: Thank you for the advice and comments! I will definitely keep the work coming, and I will try to loosen up!![]()
I know my skills are way off mark but I will keep all your comments in mind while I paint and try to improve! Thank you for looking at my work guys!!

Last one is quite cool! Try to play with values of naked part and soften gradients. Also don't forget left hand.
