Mossi's hopefully not too noobish sketchbook

    OK

I discovered this forum some time ago and have been lurking in the shadows for, well, several months, seeing great artist share their works and progressing (the speedpainting thread being the cause for many a sleepless night because of it's awesomness)

Finally I've worked up the courage to start a sketchbook here in hope of maturing as an artist with your helpful comments and/or kicks in the groin

So starting off with my Werechihuahua!

EDIT -- PICTURES ON THE NEXT PAGE SUCK LESS!!

This guy goes on my list of things I never want to meet face to face.
In a good way, of course! I like it, though I'm not sure about the background and 'shadow'. They don't seem to fit in with the rest. Not organic enough -- in my opinion of course.
    Awaiting more work...

Hei thanks guys.. Didn´t think I´d get noticed in the whole swarm of sketchbooks here

Blenditall: Yeah.. the shadow is meant to be a placeholder..but it´s been tampered with now..

This sketch´s just an anatomy and dynamic pose practice

One thing to note with the last image, is that if this is meant to be the same guy at different ages in his life, then you should note that the nose in the 2nd stage is protruding slightly, yet in the 3rd it is recessing around the bridge? The nose being made of cartilage doesnt really alter its form over a life time and tends to remain slightly more consistent in its mass and proportions...

Liking the devil guy too, would be cool to see him taken further, maybe even to color? ;-)

    Hei, thanks Brun..

    Here´s some [mediocre] anatomy sketches

    (no refs used btw)

Though, don´t hold your breath for color studies, since I suck at them

hey man, good stuff in here.
i love that chihuahua, brilliant idea.
you should try to clean up your potraits, either leave out the lines totally or redraw them with one stroke for each line instead of scribbly lines, looks much more defined and finished! just put a new layer ontop of your drawing and do it again in confident strokes, its eassy because you are basically just tracing.
and for the mountain, i like how you captured the light ontop of it bt the composition is a bit "dull" maybe add some coulds to break the empty space or show some other mountains in the far distance (less saturated and more blueish)
    keep it up!

Arf, the chihuahua reminds me of the dog I live with. She should've so been called Ren [got the attitude as well].
I like that row of faces you've done, good representation of age.
The mountain could do with heavier contrast to bring out the shadows [if you see what I mean]. It looks quite 'flat'.
I like the colouring with the chihuahua though, keep going.

Really need to practice inorganic drawing and rendering (amongst other things obviously).

This is a speedsketch of the Ilkejav MK 7 Long Range transport shuttle..

..thinking of making a ingame model of it, just for kicks (yeah, I´m a 3D nerd also) as soon as school chills down a bit.
