    Red face Help Deciding please

    Hello,

I did black and white concept, but am having trouble creating color from it. I am experimenting with different styles and came to these 2 different results.

My Question is, What out of both options shows that I might be heading in the right direction? The one on the left, or the one on the right? If neither, why?

I'm always shy to ask because of the incredible amount of talent. Any feedback that I get will be greatly appreciated

The one on the right is much better.

The one on the right has a better contrast between the green and red. The highlights in the left one make the folds look more like fat instead of fur, though the one on the right still has this issue too.
However the pose and the skirt have issues, the arm pose looks awkward if we think the pose in 3D, as in the position of the end of the stick she's holding looks like her arm is extended only to the side, though the arms itself looks like it's extending both to the side and front, and the folds in the skirt don't really convey any shapes under the skirt (as in, her legs). Overall the legs feel like they're on the short side, seeing how she has completely human arms, making me expect that she has completely human legs too.

    Definitely the second.
You need to lengthen the legs.
    Pose is awfully static.
Would a female elk character have antlers?

    Thank you so much!

Thank you for all the replies so far, and the criticisms. It's funny how you don't notice things until people let you know(like the legs, and the arm as well). In terms of the antlers, I just drew them in for practice.

This was mainly for me to practice drawing and color. I do need to practice less static poses. I just have a hard time visualizing a dynamic body.

Again thank you so much for all the advice! I will make those changes personally and then keep practicing

In that case, practice more. They don't follow the perspective of the head.
