"My english is so bad....."
Been a real while since my last update... but here they are. They look awful... but whatever I thought it's better to get over being embarrassed and just be honest and show just how much more work I need to do for imagination drawings.
why are the drawings so big here...I saved as smaller files but the size appear the same eventhough some are 200kb and some are 100. How big do you guys usually save your jpegs?
Sometimes I upload as 200kb and it looks much smaller. Weird... o_0

Your perspective work and block form anatomy studies are looking awesome! On your paintings are you tracing and then painting or just going by eye? I really can't tell which you are doing..
keep up the awesome work, it seems like we are interested in similar stuff ^^
@Tef Thanks Tef! Your stuff is going great too XD
@Vices Thanks for dropping byFor your question - I paint by eye, but I do check with ruler lines once every hour or so, to see if my positioning line up with the reference. And I usually find my verticals tilting to the right lol.. I've heard that somewhere, it happens when you are right-handed; and your verticals tend to tilt the other way when you are left-handed. Pretty interesting to see it actually happening!
More details on Tom Cruise but it's looking like I didn't make any changes... @_@;;; Maybe it's time to move on to another painting..?
The next painting I'm planning to work on:
Just a very quick sketch and laying down some perspective lines.
I have a feeling this one's gonna be pretty hard if I want to do it correctly. But it looks like a good one to learn from!

Good study architectureIt's not easy. For my part, I'll have to bump perspective. But I do not know where to start
I love your painting Tom Cruise !

@Tef I found starting with just reading and copying Loomis books helps. Also, Scott Robertson's videos are great to help you see things in 3D space. Perspective seem to be something that.. I often feel like.. oh I think I get it now' and then later on you learn more complicated stuff and realize actually no I don't know!! Just try with something super easy, like a box, and try drawing the same box with 1 pt, 2 pt, 3 pt, and with looking down, looking up... etc. It seems to help me!
Speaking of perspective, here's my attempt at the hall picture. Will try another one tomorrow.

Hey man, great work! The likeness in the Tom Cruise painting is very good, keep it up.![]()
Sketchbook | Website |
nice perspective practice and really like the blocked in tom cruise! i dont think you should continue it but you should do more more! i think if you are going to do a blocked in study it should be about getting accuracy as quickly as possible.
@Psychobuddy: Thanks man! It took many tries and fixing on the eyes...lol and finally it was looking slightly like him, then it's like.. OKAY LEAVE IT ALONE NOW!
Kevin: Thanks Kevin for the advice - sounds like it's more fun too to do more different paintings. Working on the same one gets kinda boring sometimes lol I'll try the tip you suggested.
Perspective day... pulling my hair out just doing squares @@
Here's a site I found useful for doing perfect squares: http://colorbay.com/perspective_6.htm
but how do you do perfect square CUBE in perspective?? seems like all my resources on hand talk about square but not cube (with all equal size)
Imaginary factory place. In the end I kept on adding more and more stories lol I'd add more if I had time!! want to create a feeling that this thing is so deep you cant see where the bottom ends.

You nailed the colors very well. Keep it up, looking to see more from you!![]()
Great studies!! keep it up:]
Ps: I really like your pencil sketches :]
@SatuThanks so much for being so encouragining!! Colors is super hard for me when I try to do imagination stuff. Hope I can get better, for now I'm being a wimp by sticking with monochrome. lol
@Kame Thanks so much for visting! I love using pencil and charcoal (I am scared of paint! lol) Need tons of work when it comes to actually getting values though :/
Been over a month since I last post... BADBADBAD
I have started to paint, they look pretty terrible, but I am a bit less scared of colors now. That's a good thing.

wow, i'm in love with that living room painting, too awesome
@Vice & Anthony Thanks for being so encouraging! I wish I could do something like that from imagination... gotta keep practicing hard.
Here's so imagination stuff for today.. it's suppose to be thumbnails but they ended up taking me 2 hours.I really suck at this.

im really liking the railway sketch you did. if it were a real place it would be an interesting place to go visit.
holy shit i feel that my ass has been kicked so hard my hand is leaning towards my pencil, killer perspective work here, also your drawings are so loose great to see you are going into colors cant wait to see more from you dont you dare stop posting your drawings!!! *Crazy eye, anyways wish you the best man![]()
my sketchbook! Drawing like a maniac!!
My Blog
Destroy your weaknesses! theres nothing more to it! stop bitching grab that pencil and sketch Away!
Duuuuuddeeee....I dunno how I could ever make YOU feel lazy! You've got one hell of a sketchbook going on here. You have a good sense of your values and color.
The only thing I might suggest in your paintings, is to push the finished quality of them. They all seem to be abandoned after you have your main elements blocked in, but you aren't pushing them further. I'd really like to see you polish something off because I think you could do it!
Take care, and keep up the hard work.
@Anthony, thank for dropping by. You comments REALLY made my day.... I always wanted to be able to make people imagine themselves being there, and make myself imagine that I'm there... so... it's really like the one of the best compliment. (*Tears*)
@lionheart your OWN pencil work look great!! I especially like your gesture drawings. Thanks for being encouraging... it makes me want to work harder!! XD
@Syle Man you are really right to the point. LOL I totally do abandon my paintings very quickly... it's so true. It's like something I knew but didn't want to face XD so thanks for pointing it out. On my next painting I will try to push it as far as I can. Thanks again for dropping by and for the honest feedback.
Was reading the ImagineFX magazine and find a link called "Militaryphotos.net" - the photos here are really good. The plan was to do 8 thumbnails but ended up only doing 2, and took 3 hours...I'm soo f***ing slow....
One from imagination - it's supposed to be like aircraft portals on a cliff... lol but I didn't know how to draw aircrafts hahhahahaha FAIL

tried some thumbnails and turned out terrible, scrap the whole thing by the end. Sketch some girls instead...

Haha well I guess any practice is good practice. But I know how you feel I don't have the gift of magical environments from imagination so I'll have to do many more studies.. But girl sketches are always fun.
