Are you selling this T-shirt, or is it for a client/Apparel? I'm not sure about the grid inside the corns (try drawing the shadows of their texture instead). Also, I'd adjus the kerning on "the friendly flyover state" because some characters (like the F and L in flyover) are a little hard to tell apart. Remember we identify characters from their surrounding whitespace.

I like the idea, keep up!
"Great job guys! I love you. You're fired."

Thanks for the heads up on the letters, It does look like and "N" or a "b" from afar. The corn will get a makeover also. I wish I could get this printed but the emulsion, screens and exposure light are locked up at the high school, I could take it to a local print shop but I'm broke right now.

    Smile

Liking where this is going, good work!

Januz already gave a lot of good suggestions,
I'll just add one or two. Try tweaking the
composition for a more dynamic layout. Move
the corn up on both sides, maybe have their
stems fit into the gaps next to "Est." and their
tops slightly higher than "Iowa". You might have
to enlarge them too for a good snug fit. This might
help to unify your design a bit more.
A bit of vintage texture might also give it more of
    an edge.
