Hi guys, I'm not exactly new, but it's been ages since I participated in any of these challenges. I want to try and participate weekly from now on.

You guys have such amazing concepts so far.
I started this a bit late. I hope I find some more time to work on this tomorrow before the deadline. I want to make it more creepy, and refine it a bit more.

VegasMike, your work looks great But I think claws(on the front paws) should face the same direction(like this http://www.propersia.com/images/Anat...-anatomy-5.jpg) . So they'll be effective and usable in combat I guess

plus i have it a block on what to put for the colors and were to place this guy cant think of the environmant to put him that wouldnt throw off everything i wish i had a plan for this everything but the colors was basically spontaneous

I am digging all of these cool concepts! Very creepy

VegasMike: There is so much awesome going on in this picture it took me a while to see all of the awesome bits like "death" and the people falling into his hand and the others getting dumped into his back mouth. Very awesome design and I'm not sure what else you could do to push it farther.

ChaosTheory: I love the exposed muscle everywhere and the rods sticking out of his head very cool, only thing I could think of to push it would be to have some stuff dripping be it blood or slime I think that would push it over the edge of creeptastic

Christoffer: I really dig where this is going.


This is where I'm at currently, not quite sure how it will turn out but I'm pretty creeped out by the thought of meeting it haha

Still working on it between uni-work.
I pictured this creature to crawl around whilst waiting for "fresh meat". And when hells new victims were to enter he would stand up, welcome them and pull a mocking grin. The reason for the bright light background was because I imagined the gates of hell to draw its victims near, fooling them into thinking it was heaven (light at the end of the tunnel).

penciltipred: love the colours! But the mouthpart seems a bit flat, some extra shadows and highlight will help a ton

ChaosTheory: It's a bit odd that the rods sticking out of his head are so smooth. They sort of seem out of place. interesting monster still. Like the captured souls.

The monster is a little fussy still, and I would like to add some stuff to the enviroment too. Time time time...

Hive_minD - very creepy. I like how it's a little misshapen.

Finishing touches. Not sure what else I can do with it at this point.
I guess I could work more on details but I fear I might over-do it.

I've been working on this one since Friday, glad to see an extension as I had a hard time getting the right concept. Unfortunately my idea doesn't appear as unique as I thought it was initially. Now I have more time to add some more elements to the composition. I thought I'd post my WiP to show off my idea so far.

I can't look at this damn thing anymore! Gonna call this one done and try not to noodle around with it for the next week. Great work everyone...I may have time this week to offer some visual crits and paint overs.

I didn't notice the deadline had moved and went ahead and posted my final. I'm posting it here too though, in case you guys have some feedback I could incorporate.

Other thoughts:

Pixeltuner: Looking awsomely disgusting. There is something comical about the tounge coming out the side of the mouth. It makes it look a bit like a dog. Not sure if horror comedy is a bad thing though. I like it at least

GammaGrey: It looks pretty nasty, but the posture is a bit unasuming. Could be more threatening.

Whiskey Sour: Nice. It looks sort of fossilised. The hind legs are a bit hard to understand. Are they just blocks of rock that it rests on?
