great sb! maybe focus less on the people in ur film studies and more on the overall image , love the way your gestures are going. were u using charcoal? maybe need harder edges in ur painting. how is sheridan?

@Matt Will trickle in some more in the future

@Care Mm thanks! I know what you mean .3. I get so caught up on the details >....<
I was using conte :s I usually find lil pieces here and there on the ground, so it's highly replenishable 8D
Good idea, I'll try it out And sheridan is okay, the work is mediocre, buts it's all exceptionally time consuming, especially this one course called english o.e'' *flails around*

You doing great on the gestures. The colors and values in your moviestudies are way off you can improve on this by using the colorpicker to check how close u are to the original, dont concentrate too much on the form at first, also u can just make a rough drawing and paint over it.

Hey! I realized I completely missed over your sketchbook! Shame on me! You are definiately off to a good start. I see you are timing yourself, Maybe I shall join you. Ive started timing my activity anyway but with no goal. There is this great thing called Toggl, that I use to time myself, very useful and free. Those clouds, look delicious! great job seriously! I wish you made a recording because i think it would be interesting to see speed up paint of those clouds. Anyway I hope you keep the updates frequent!

Gestures are looking really good, also the values in your movie stills are looking much better, maybe try using a softer brush, but I'm not sure whether thats necessarily good advice haha, keep it up anyways

Nice stuff man, on the lava sphere the lava isn't wrapping around the form of the sphere, try to take note on that. Also if your having problem with angles try drawing cubes in different angles and see how the perspective affects them, hope that helps and keep it up

Fantastic work with the gesture studies. You have a good sense of form and movement when it comes to figures. Just a little tweaking here and there to get the likeness (I notice that the legs on many of your female figures seem too thick). As for your screen caps, try blocking in the big shapes first and then only later painting in the details, like facial features. I think you'll find quicker progress that way. Cheers, hope that helps!

Phew, great stuff! I'd suggest that you use bigger brushes to block in your basic values and color in those (screencap) painting because they look rather patchy like this (more bleinding!) but your figures are truly great and awesome work on those material studies!
Please take a look at my Sketchbook! <- Comments are highly appreciated and returned C:

Hey bro! Thanks for stopping by. Your pencil stuff is really good, but digital studies are little bit lacking. My advice for you is wait with the color and do more grayscale value sketches, because colors without correct value are nothing. And dont be afraid to push the value contrast a little bit, use the whole scale. Anyway any study, good study. Keep them coming

hey i think you got a great sketchbook. i love your film-color-studies. in the beginning you really have been too de-valued. the colors you chose have been to light, therefore giving a whole different whole expression. however in the last few post you do it better. very consequently high-quality studies. keep it up.

    peace!
