I feel the sculpted cape seems to fit better, it is slightly more dramatic and seems to fit better with his forward lean.

Pro work there. I prefer the sculpted cape too. It's brings the whole piece together and make it look consistent. Even though it's nice the way the fabric lays on the model it makes it look like a toy.
