Finished... i think.

morning sketch, Sargent reference used, but not really a master study.
![]()
Started as a movie study, but turned into a sketch to experiment a few things.
One of my problems is the softness of my rendering so, this time i tried to render with hard brushes.
a bit of skyrim, a bit of final fantasy...

Awesome sketches dude, cant wait to see more really liking your style too
Help me improve!

new concepts for my graphic novel project.
![]()
Hey all! here is a sort of experiment for my upcoming graphic novel project.
I made this as a test, i think i could use this graphic style for the majority of the panels.
However, the level of detail will vary to highly polished pictures to sketchy, loose secenes.
Also, consider this the final design for the protagonist, Rose.
Finally, the text on the ballon is just a joke.
![]()
Is it correct to say bubbles or ballons? Anyway, don't use templates. Draw them yourself. Realistic styles might go well with white or translucid bubbles. Experiment a bit.
I'm curious about your project.
Thanks Leonor, i didnt used a template btw, i drew the "bubble" or "balloon" with the elipse tool. But you are right, i will have to experiment.
Aah tons of things to learn!![]()
Study/Concept of today, with a lame joke included.
Getting tired of all that serious stuff, wanted to do something more funny this time.

another mornin' sketch

i just did my very first brush, and i´m very pleased with the results.
Also today i saw the ending of Eureka seven AO, and i had to do something related.
Reference used, from the OST or something like that.
![]()
I´m done with fanart for now, really need to get serious again.![]()

I´m preparing my next portfolio piece, from now on i will replace my existent portfolio pieces with new ones. I plan this to be the first.
So, what you think about this composition?
The basic idea is, two adventurers in an old long ago forgotten ruins, and of course, the creepy beast coming to devour them.
![]()
Great pieces recently man! love the colors on the hoverboard guy
My first impressions on the composition of the portfolio piece: Who is the main focus of the painting? I get a sense of danger from the piece, but the adventurers and the beast are both screaming for attention and take up the same amount of space in the composition. From a compositional standpoint, its the horizontal division at the center of the painting that i'm talking about. Its just my personal taste, but if this painting was about the heroes..I would crop the image in such a way so the two adventurers are more prominent and leave the beast somewhat of a mystery (not showing the entirety of it and leaving some parts up to imagination). It really depends on what you're going for, its already a strong composition- nice pose on the charaters.
Hope that makes some sense and helps in a way![]()

hey thanks Mitn!
I got some really awesome feedback on the crimson daggers forum, so i fixed a few things.
I was thinking, maybe transforming the monster lion into a chimera?
or adding a bunch of little monsters to represent that the warriors are surrounded?
PD: listening to Vindictus/Dark Souls ost while painting scenes like this is awesome.

in the end i wrote some background for this (excuse my atrocious english)
The manticore is a legendary beast, the first emperor conquered half of Athras mounted in one of those terrific creatures.
The squad of imperial soldiers sent to investigate the old ruins beneath the imperial city of Thesalium, got caught in an ambush by the vicious kobolds, but the scent of blood awakened something much more terrible...
Could this be the same beast that fought alongside the Emperor?

sketch, i used the random character generator on crimson daggers.
Trying to work a bit more from imagination.

i changed the legs, but i lost the full resolution file, and had to resize a jpg, so thats why it looks a bit worse.

Today i was a bit off, i need to sleep more.
Here is a sketch, trying to mimic Yoji Shinkawa style, just for fun.
Another crazy artist i´ve found is Kim Bum from Korea, but everytime i google his name an actor singer, or something like that appears in his place xD

New graphic novel stuff, this months i have been focusing too much on Rose, the main character. So for now i will focus on the rest of the cast.
Here is a sketch of his mentor, The master of the battlefield, The Hawk.
