Balle. More clutter. More mess. More carnage. Make sure not to lose focus on the dude. Maybe keep the dude separated from the rest with his hue.

watch the persp on the bottom right. the cracks look great but the ground looks like it's curving up instead of just going into the bg. reminds me of i am legend with the deer.
i think some graffiti and wear/tear would benefit the foreground, but of course it's a wip
thanks btw for posting great crits in my sketchbook ^^![]()

kidult: duly noted! I'll take care of it![]()
TheGnoll: Thanks man! Lotta good ideas there! I've started putting stuff in now... Maybe nighttime would be a better way to go... or like twilight.. I'll mess around with it and see!
Slash: Hmf.. no boob-suggestions? Oh well.. those you posted were too, I guessHaha... thanks bro!
hp: Yup... I really need to get something done about the perspective issue on the right hand side there... I'll correct it for the next update! Thanks! Glad you dig.. hehe.. The scene is inspired by the place near where I live, and there are deer in the forests here... But reminding you of I am Legend ain't bad in my book.. hehe... I enjoyed that movie!
Update.. didn't get to paint much today... meeting and website solution-shit goin' on.. heh... but I got a little bit done.
Keep critting ya'll! Really appreciate it!
dC
i think the black thing on the right hand side is a bit distracting for now. maybe flesh it out a little more.
i know it's not done yet, but i think with the wear and tear there would be a TONNNNN more graffiti. like overlaid on top of each other.

I wanna see WAY more clutter! MORE MESS! And for the love of all that's unholy will you throw in a pair of boobs? It's headed in the right direction tho, just keep churning away at it!
Oh, and since you've been riding me about perspective, i'll throw some right back at you.It seems as the surface the character is standing on is twisted, cuz you see it more from above towards the left side, but then it twists and almost aligns with the camera towards the right. There might be a fancy smanchy booklernin' perspective explaination to this, but it seems a little off to me.
hp: Good crits! I fucked up royally and saved a flattened websize over my .psd though, so I'm gonna have to get around to repainting parts of that piece... I'll add mo' graff and shit for the next update!
slash: no boobs for this one!! I will add clutter though!![]()
Some sketchies... I need to get around to scanning my sketchbook, but here are a few digis...
I've migrated my blog from blogspot to wordpress... I'll put the new link in my sig as well, but if any of you feel inclined to drop me a line over there; clicky

Cool stuff, i like the creatures from the previous page.
Keep posting!
I love the inks here: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...7&d=1232714688, very harsh and, i dunno...tactile I guess? Works great.
While you're adding all the clutter and boobs you need to add to that WIP, be careful not to lose the sense of scale you're getting from the perspective, which is very well done.
Love the monkey, hehe.
On your piece that you're working on, I agree with Slash, more clutter. It comes off as a little too clean right now. Some textures and stuff will prolly help out on that too, it's a bit too slick. But don't lose the sense of the character nor it sitting alone in a wide landscape like that.

Ok, so I decided to try out ArtRage, and it was more fun than a buncha monkeys in a barrel! Just got the lite edition though, but I think I'll be buying the full version soon... getting layers and stuff to be able to mesh better with photoshop would be nice.. hehe...
Also scanned a few pages.. messy and shit, but there ya go... I'm getting back into doing more pencils again... which I'm glad for!
My girlfriend borrowing my fedora
I did a screenrecording of the last one there.. 20 minute speedy in ArtRage.. you can see that over at my blog if you're interested![]()

'nother ArtRage speedy... around 30 minutes. Still getting to grips with the program, but it hella fun to be sloppin' paint around in it![]()
And a pencil sketch..
I'm trying to repent for being such a horribly absent poster for a while now![]()
Thank you for looking!
dC
ooh some of that artrage stuff is great! esp the girl with the facepaint.
the portrait of the girl in the hat (assume it's your gf? cuz of the heart) i think could be improved. i think you need a more delicate touch near the undercheek shadows. otherwise it looks good.
the last sketch you posted is probably one of the best you've done so far. the guns are slightly out of persp though. you should paint this one up!

Especially the big fella with the mace![]()
when i get back home were gonna go on a feet drawing rampage! And we're not gonna stop until we can both draw a pair of convincing feet actually being GROUNDED on a ground plane, in any perspective. This has been bugging me in my own work, and its bugging me in your work as well. This is where most of your latest pieces fall through, the foot areas are generally unelegant. I don't know exactly what youre doing wrong, probably cuz i make the same mistakes myself, and if i knew i wouldn't be doing them..So yeah, boot camp when i get back, PUN INTENDED! I also notice that in some of your faces the features don't fit the shape of the face, or vice versa. I did a quick paintover to illustrate my point, although i might have taken the lipo too far..
I dont know exactly how you do it, but i find it helpful to go through a mental checklist of things to look out for, first the big shapes of the head and how they relate, and then the more superficial features following these.
Other than that, cool stuff bro! I especially like what you have going on with the voodoo priest and the other feathered shaman dude. Artrage looks like a blast, and im guessing it fits your traditional background perfectly. Get well soon, and don't forget to send me the stuff! NUDGE NUDGE!
Stay Alpha!
oh man, the green bg on the 1st pic in post 1448, it looks awesomeeeeee

Artrage seems to suit you. You're getting there in colour, but push even a bit more, follow your own advice to me and go nuts a few times.![]()

Slash: Thanks for taking the time for a paintover, heimegut! I agree you took the lipo a bit far, but I'll definately keep it in mind! I'm gonna take it real serious and start doing balance/grounding studies even *before* you're getting back! BOO YAH! My drawings are gonna be GENETICALLY DIFFERENT by the time you get back, homie!! STAY ALPHA!!
hp: Nah, come on! You've got great characters too!! Glad you like the direction my sh*t is taking now thoughThanks!
Sorknes: Hehehe... practice what I preach, right?Yeah, I'll remember to go wild on a few! (He said and posted a greayscale

A back study for some stuff at work... the study ain't nothing like what I'm aiming at though so I can showThe final product will be under NDA for a while
I'll show when I can though!
The robot-arm thumbs are for a project at work as well. Bit looser on the "don't-show-this-to-nobody"-ness, so there ya goI'll be taking 1 or 3 further, according to the client. I'll get updates up on them when I get there!
