Slash: Appreciate the crits! Thanks! I'm reworking those pieces... I'll post as soon as I have something to show for.
Kresh: Thanks man! Stopped by your SB... very nice pencils!
Badger: Glad you like! And I'll keep in mind the substructures of the face
Hurricane: Haha.. thanks for the pats, bro!
'nother values/light study... this time Gerôme... Cave Canem.. not the whole thing of course... cropped it down a bit.
thanks for looking!
d-C
Phat shit! Lots of improvement, and its a breath of fresh ass to see you drop the texture brush for once!![]()
Badger: Thanks man! Good to know that I'm actually moving somewhere... hehe
Slash: And we all like fresh ass.. or... something... hehe... yeah... I'm laying off the texturebrushes for a while now.
just a speedy while I was waiting for a phonecall..
Thanks for checking in on me! Replies tomorrow.

http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1162424133 - some brighter highlights on this and it s done
On pencils, I think you maybe need a bit more of darks in places.
http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1162960713 - this is a very cool char!!
Keep posting!
Looking great!
you need to view some more planes in your character's bodies and faces...the shading is too soft a lot of times and just make your characters looks like cylinders
nice value studies...still going through this sketchbook lol...so long ^^
nice improvement along the way though!

fooxoo: Glad you like, and thanks for the crits! Dropped by your SB... good show in there!
hpslashluvr: Yeah... good point... I've gotten that cylinder-crit before... hehe... better get some volumestudies down! Thanks for dropping in! Where are your updates?
Pencils...
d-C
looking good, keep on working. when you get here iäll show you some stuff you need to work on.
and ways of maybe getting around it or creating your own ways.
biggest flaws on this update is:
- way to stiff (but it's cleaner than usuall so cudos)
-the kids head is not even close to a childs, the proportions is way off
work hard dude! you're taking strides my friend!
cheers

Hurricane: Thanks bro! Good crits... on point as always! Talk to ya soon!
Valuestudy for today.
d-C
Yo! nice updates here! I'm digging your valuestudies, they look like they are helping you out! Its also good to NOT see any texture brushes anywhere. Keep rocking, and keep your sword sharp for the battle against the brits!
Damn, much progression here sir! I always enjoy me some eye studies... your last valuestudy is really nice as well. Just wanted to let you know, cheers.
Slash: Thanks man! Been sharpening my sword as a mo'foI'll harrass you on msn for opinions on my piece! And about you not posting, you slacker!
Zord: Thanks! You've been progressing your ass off lately yourself... hehe... keep rockin' both the pencils and the digis! Like I said in your SB... that ostrich is pretty damn solid compared to the earlier digis you've done!
Ok... pencils and an update on a digi (WIP)... I have more digital stuff, but I can't show it yet... I'll let ya'll in on 'em when I can!
Oh yeah... the little gnome-ish dude is probably very inspired by Hurricanes latest stuff...
d-C
cool sketches man, keep up the hogarth's im sure they'll help a lot! although theres one thing you might have forgotten to apply- perhaps the curve of the boot on the latest one- that foot coming forward, it would be going the other way to show its coming forward- just like in the hogarth studies. like ^.
does that make sense? im real tired so im sorry
Hello Dcept. How many pages, uve must have been drawing all year around while i wasnt around. Where's the contrast in your digital drawing, the hard edged lines, huh?
Ah don't mind me im only flying by lightly![]()
nice and big updates.Nice stuff, good to see you keep practicing anatomy constantly, like we should all do.Rendering looks good in many sketches, but try not to smudge too much. The last digital chara looks good, maybe it needs to have more contrast, more texture and more details, but the anatomy is good.Work on presentation to make your work look more professional...keep sharing
ciao
Good stuff, gave you the crits already, it s great that you re foing the anatomy studies, helps heaps.
What grade pencil are you using? Your drawings could use more contrast.
Cool stuff and keep going,
cheers![]()
rodrigo: Yeah... I know.. I made it before the studies, though... not that it's an excuse... hehe... I'll fix and repost when I've done some more work on it!
cold: Thanks for swinging in man!
TheGnoll: Thanks for the comments!
fooxoo: Usually ranges from 2h-6b... I'll try to use the darker ones moreThanks for stopping in! Holler at ya soon!
Crap-load for now... The enviro-sketch is a "too-quicky"©, but I thought I'd post it anyway... same goes for the yellow dude I suppose... 'nuff excuses...
d-C
looking good dude!
last two updates are killer!
but you got some hmmm...form issues. Your faces are boxy, try to connect and blend each portion of the face more with each other...top hat dude is great but his chin and edges of the actuall face is like...box....
and sometimes you have some issues with the proportions...not the proportions them selves but in relation to eachother...
cheers dude and keep on rocking! you're doing great!

Looking good holy crap post 1086 I think it is ..... rocks. Im loving the eye studies as well. B-cin-ya.
Fantastic stuff!!!
keep at it viking!
Those last pencil drawing show some powah, and for ur last digital painting... stop using low obacity with large brushes all the time, get those 100% opacity 3.0 pixel brushes on there, heh, only kidding.
...give it a try though and il change my purple to green![]()
Hey man your lighting is getting way stronger! Nice!
Yo!!! You've been holdin' out on me on msn!! i've never seen this before: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1164384180
I think it looks great, but you could probably push the values even further, and bring some color into the light and shadows.. Now some of your shading has a little bit of that "mixed with black - ergo muddy" feel.
Hey guys! Thanks for the replies! I'll get back to you when I wake up again... need to sleep now... Just a small sketchie for today... kinda from ref...I started out with ref. and abandoned it somewhere in there... wanted to have a look at my boxiness as Hurricane pointed out...
I went to a lifedrawing session today, which rocked! I haven't been doing lifedrawing in a loooong while... now, I'm gonna be doing it every wednesday! I'll scan and post those, also when I wake up.
d-C
nice pencils man! they are getting better every time.
The profile s great, good light, nice strokes, good one
Keep working!!
