@ blade_shuriken: i'd recommend playing around with shapes first trying to find an intressting silhouette.

also take 15 mins to think about kind of creature you want to draw and then find some animals that have parts of the anatomy that you can use.

then break them down to easy to use shapes like cilinders,spheres etc. and play around with that.

Just got this done, not sure if it's going in the right direction but it's definitely the best version I've had so far.

Never got a chance to post this. I was dicking around with a more comic style piece for this. My internet is totally kaput, though, so you guys get it now, instead.
