Wow. Just wow. That's some serious patience you got going on right there , plus talent, cool ideas and a lot of possibilities. Enjoyed a lot to check out your stuff, it also made me feel like a lazy kid. Fuck, I would be bored before the third page if I were to be drawing all that. It's all got quite nice quality so you can tell you didn't just jump, you took your time, on my book that's something to admire. The still life are another proof of such legendary steadyness, man, I'm inspired. I'll be back for more, and I'm sure I'll find TONS more! Hahaha, keep up the good work.

    ezekrialase - thank you!

Suira - Thanks man, I appreciate it! Yeah, I've kept my feet pretty well planted, no jumping quite yet, but I think I have to now.

Trying to work more from imagination now, I've hit a wall where I don't know what to study, so it's time to fail hard and then study harder. Just some W.I.P stuff that I plan on pushing to a pretty high level and then analyze the shit out of. I spent the last week or so tunneling more anatomy, but I don't know what I know if that makes any sense, so I need to do some characters as well.

    Also, page 5 woop woop!

Morning update. Still working on this and I'm going to keep pushing it farther since I need to figure out what to study.

Hey m8! Nice to see you keep pushing yourself in order to improve. On this last one I'd say it's ok but the...hmm...the things around the trees (sorry but I don't know what to call them) althought quite interesting as idea lose a bit of appeal because of the roots I think, maybe if the things were more planted on the floor and you could see the roots come from somewhere else underground and show a bit of them instead of the whole ramification it could enhance the picture, but I don't know, I like it anyway, oh, maybe map out the warm colours a bit to make it more alive.

    I'll be back!

Suira - Yeah I wanted to put more things around the floor, I just didn't get around to putting them in. One of my problems with how I did this one was that it wasn't a linear progression where everything was established and then polished while keeping the thumbnail roughly the same. I should have blocked more stuff in first.

Anyways, deciding to drop this piece since it's becoming an eyesore and I don't see much use in going farther with it. Lots of things need fixing and lots of techniques were poorly executed or just not good ideas to begin with. He'res some studies and a process GIF of this landscape so I can relive the train-wreck a few more times.

Starting to shift myself into doing more imagined stuff and trying to learn a working process. I started out with those thumb sheets, then picked one I liked and eventually ended up at the colored one after a few ideations. I'll post some more sketchbooky type stuff tomorrow, but this is what I've been working on today. Got a lot of help from the guys in the CD Hangout, it's been fun hanging out in there.

    Colour Coded - Thanks!

Here's just some little progress on that piece. I've been playing around with the shapes, pulling the clouds and fog together and simplified the rocks back down so I could solve some perspective stuff tomorrow morning.

Those thumbs and the enviro, woah. Pretty amazing man, now that's a lesson I definetively have to learn: sitcking to something till it gets somewhere. And generally I'm very impressed with your grasp of the rocks and mounts and stone in general, I'm having a hard time trying to render stuff like that, so i admire anyone who's able, and you certainly are. On the face thing I can only provido you with a couple ideas that worked for me ( altough 50% of my faces are retarded or distorted xD)
I don't know but it looks like you took the loomis method. While the guy has some amazing advide to provide I've never found that way of sketching faces being very helpfull when constructing form. I've struggled with Loomis, Hogarth, and Bridgeman amongst others, and all the stuff they put in is usefull, or most of it, but I would stick to Kevin Chen demo drawing's for facce structure, and getting your own method of construction once you've got the general idea. It helped great deal for me. I , from then, started to try building from the hollow part of the eyes (my english only gets that far ) and then moving on, and that method worked best for me, so my advice would be that: Kchen + personal methodology. It'll help to get realistic faces. Oh! And beware of the eyes/nose, triangle when building from imagination that fucker gets it its way and it screws the entire proportion.

After this long ( and hope somehow usefull) speechs I'll en up saying: nice stuff man!

nice sb, hard work and good progress

if i was u i would use less hard edges

also the last enviro is nice but the ice patterns are bit repetitive (size and direction)

composition is good (so u have to make it better)

    keep up

Suira - Yeah, I use mostly the loomis method (I have a sphere construction method that's pretty reliable), but it's also combined with other things. What I've been doing does work for me though, and I understand how it all works, it's just a matter of executing it properly. Just need a lot more practice at it.

    Setherial - Thanks!

zou - Thank you Yeah, I'm painfully aware of all of that, I got hasty and sloppy towards the end.

    snatti - Will do ;D

AdrianNagorski - Yeah they seem to be paying off... I think? I dunno. Thanks though haha

    Adam@Lyme - Thank you!

I'm back after a few days of withdrawal, some more studies here. Had to take a few days away from everything to sort some stuff out.

More shenanigans and an important lesson, if you catch something that needs to be fixed before it's too late, fix it, even if it's too late. About an hour in the fabric wasn't going so well, so I scrapped the layer completely and redid it.

fantastic work ethic, fantastic drawing and fantastic work overall. Some of your imagination color work is maybe not as strong as everything else, but seeing how well you construct everything, you won't have any problems figuring it out. Keep going!
