    Thanks Tagachi and Fly.
I'm aware of my perspective problem and I'm working on improving in this area. I will use the cone of vision and all the other tricks that result in a perspective without distortions. More cubes coming soon.
I will also do more life drawings.

For today I made another study from Rango. I focused more on the sky and I neglected the rocks in the foreground. I'm still having problems with drawing rocks.

Salut,Andrei!

    Thanks forestdino.

I did another vehicle study today but I focused a lot more on the structure of the model and I ended up spending too much time on drawing all the lines and the perspective lines. I like the workflow I used yesterday a lot more. I just blocked in the shape of the model and started rendering it (while keeping in mind perspective)... It's less accurate but I got the result a lot faster.

I tried to do the same kind of presentation to make them feel like they are part of the same thing.

Just took a look at all of your stuff and can say that I can see the progress. Last few pictures (truck and crane) are very good. As mentioned before, you need to work more on perspective and that's it. Keep it up and thanks for sharing.

    Thanks Fantastico.

I did another vehicle today... the classic forklift. I tried another workflow though, something I was planning on integrating in my drawings for some time: I spend around 20min in a 3D app and blocked in the main shape of the object, I took a screenshot and I painted on top. I plan to do this more in the future, especially for big environments.

your knowledge of 3d certainly has helped, these works are very clean and presentable to a client- i enjoy them greatly, i think uve realy captured them in their simplest forms, and yet perspective and accuracy wise- they are sound. 2 thumbs up!

    Thanks A Faux

I did something using watercolor today. Last time I played with watercolor was around 15 years ago in school. It's intersecting seeing how it works compared to what I know in Photoshop (+ it's a lot more fun).
I watched a YouTube video showing how to do the trees below. I will continue doing more stuff like this in the near future.

It looks like this is the watercolor week for me.
Today I found out the hard way how complicated it is to figure out the amount of water needed... nothing worked as I wanted. The end result is a lot different then the reference but I learned a lot. I just need to keep practicing.
I followed this video to make it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4tV19VH9XI

Some more watercolor to end the week (still at the level of a 2 year old, but it's what I expected - I will get better some day - until then I'll just keep practicing)

I did two studies of panoramic photos I took this year (one last week in the Ciucas Mountains and one this spring at the Black Sea) . I have a tumblr blog where I post these picture if you want to see more: http://picoramic.tumblr.com/
I plan to do studies of most of them. Keep in mind that I took them with the phone in different positions so the perspective is distorted.

Today I needed a few quick ideas for some cliffs that I'm making in a 3D scene and I did some quick and rough studies in Photoshop before modeling them. It looks like a mess but it gave me a few good ideas.
The more I did the better ideas I got... I should have done more. I will do more.

I tried an interesting brush on the second study, one that feels very hard to control and gives random strokes but it felt nice, spontaneous. Brushes are strong...

Today I did another study of a panoramic photo I took last autumn near Vanatorile Ponorului. It was warm outside but there was some snow in the river bed.
The forest in the back was challenging and the snow doesn't look that good but overall I like how it turned out.

I was away for a few days and I took my pen and marker with me to sketch. I didn't use markers to shade until now but I like it so far. It's a little annoying because of the fixed size of the marker but I plan to look into ink wash in the new future, that should be more fun to work with. Sketching with ink was also hard because you can't erase or hide mistakes, you really have to think carefully before drawing each line.

I plan to look more into this lite travel supplies pack I could use that can give me nice contrast, a nice way to shade and apply basic colors. As I said I plan to buy a waterbrush and use it with ink and maybe watercolor pencils for more color variation. Any other tips?
I like the look of the sketches above so I'm going with ink for now.

    Thanks gamersgene.

I haven't posted for some time but I didn't stop drawing... I went traditional for a few weeks. You can see what I've been up to on my blog http://andrei313.blogspot.ro/

I did a quick environment today for a project I want to wok on in the following months. It will be a wild west small town. I will do a few quick mood/lighting/color concepts to figure out what I want. I have a few objects modeled, like the windmill bellow - I painted over the 3D model to give it some color and adjust some things here and there.
I will post more about this project in the near future.
It doesn't look like what I have in mind but I'm not expecting to get it right with my first concept... so more will come.

Just like before I blocked in the scene in 3D and placed the camera where I wanted and then I painted it in Photoshop.
Doing the Rango studies a few weeks ago helped a lot.
