I know they were on the previous page, but I have to give you serious props for those hell thumbnails, they're like condensed imagination! And they read great for both content and composition, so they're pure win. Awesome stuff man, watching this sketchbook for sure!

I have a wide screen monitor and couldn't fit some of your pictures on it. The penultimate drawing of your dragon slayer showed a lot more tension than the finished one. Going from your studies, looks like you need to a ton more of them first. They sort of look like they were just thrown into your SB.

You might want to resize your paintings so we can enjoy your awesomeness in a more compact size.

The colours you are choosing are bad, you're not thinking beyond, hm, ground is brown! You have to do colour theory, actually understand things. Also all of your work is very, ugly. The form maybe there but its so scruffy and messy it just removes any aesthetics. Try to be more refined.

I don't understand what's the purpose of unnecessarily harsh critiques like these, especially when the one doing the critiquing needs to work on the exact same things in her own work...

As for your work, Giby, it's all a great start, and as a fellow artist who hasn't had the chance to go to school for art, I love to see someone else trying hard to become as good as he can within what seems to be such restrictive means. You did some brief work with perspective, but I think some more involved study would be beneficial as well as construction studies. And I'd say values are much more of an important thing to understand right now than color. I read Sam Nielson's blog the other day and out of 7 important things to any piece he lists color choice as the least important yet value structure is around 2 or 3. Just something to think about. Keep up the good work and pace.

Hey Giby, for value studies you need to learn accurate shadow construction, which should be part of your perspective studies. Scott Robertson has good dvd's on both drawing in perspective as well as rendering basic forms, but if you can't afford to buy any of those then there should be enough information online for free to help you out as well.

agree with kendall completely, dude you are tearing it up lately what is your secret? hahaha but seriously would LOVE to see your process for a painting, also as a suggestion from time to time work in grayscale and try to get more and more values into the picture that will give it way more impact!
