Red face Drax's sketchbook (possible nudity) - COMEBACK, ASKING FOR SUPPORT!

    I'm back to living
Now I won't be postin pencil sketches but mostly digital work and try to keep it up and not stop postin again.

Still got problem with edges and textures. I tend to overblend and use too much soft edges.
How to manage it? I'm kinda afraid to let myself go and achieve some roughness with theeth.

For example cultist with book is way too soft in my opinion, and I couldn't manage to fix him. I tried to paint textures later on, but it's not nearly the same as painting them straight over.
And what brush should I use for sharpening my edges? I know it's kinda dumb question, cause you can achievie almost everything with hard round but... In my case I find it really hard to do good hard edges with hard round brush.
For example for these two landscapes (Mustafar and Mountains) i used custom brush which basically looks like "|" but it's not good for something more organic - I think it's too big and rought.

Thanks in advance for all answers! I promise I won't leave ConceptArt.org ever again, it's priceless chest of knowledge

All my works below are not in chronological order, only the newest posts are really the newest - this first post was originally different and too long, so I changed it for the sake of welcomeback :p

Found some more, old works from life drawing sculpture on big canvas. One in color, when color is still a thing that terrifies me

Watch your reflected light you tend do it too bright .
Nothing should be as bright as the light side on the shadow side..

Four quick landscape studies. Left ones are better, don't know why lol.
What can you say about them? How to achieve better illusion of detail when painting mountains without spending too much time and without loosing form?
